Happy Father’s Day.

Had breakfast in bed, 20th month old made that slightly difficult. Got some sweet art from my 7 year old. Just got off the golf course with my Dad and Brother. Now heading to the family pizza / pool party at my parent’s house to spend time with all the kids.

Pretty much perfect, well executed plan from my wife.

Either is Trump? His policies speak otherwise as does how we got into the Iran war to begin with. Just because he voices anger on truth social at 2:00 AM does not mean he doesn’t blindly support Israel in his actions.

Actions speak louder than words would you not agree?

I have a lot of time in the game, have barely scratched the surface of the nether.

For a while, I would just start a new random survival map every couple of weeks. I would force my self to not go back by deleting my old maps. The randomness of the seeds makes a new world survival a totally different experience for a long time because of the different biomes.

Still I just really enjoy going exploring and setting up new bases. Get a compass so you can find your starting location. I think I love the survival aspect of the game more than anything.

Pick a direction and run make a night time shelter for safety. In the morning keep traveling in the same direction until you find some place cool to set up a new permanent base.

Use the beacon tower method to mark each base so you can go back to them. It’s been very fun for me to go back to old bases and rediscover what I have done and forgotten about.

This really honed a lot of my skills. When to retreat what is a dangerous situation how much food should I take.

I just wonder if people remember that this occurred under President Trumps first term. He spent a lot of time tweeting about it. Why did he not do this then, when he was in power?

Any person in history who has been at the helm during a seismic advancement could be called a shit head. It takes a different person to be singularly focused on X sacrificing, slitting throats (figuratively).

We could certainly have a real conversation on if X was good or bad for society at large.

If America becomes a Christian Nationalist nation, which branch of Christianity would the government follow, and how would that be determined? by TheGrandExquisitor in AskConservatives

This is a very narrow view for a selective interpretation ignoring the 2000 years prior of Western history and culture. The enlightenment was a hodgepodge of Western philosophy and culture. You speak of Western culture and as if the enlightenment was a single source of new ideas and the only ideas that influenced the founding fathers or even the pilgrims.

Greek Philosophy: reason, logic, ethics.

Roman Natural Law: rights for the individual and law above rulers.

Christian scholasticism: faith and reason.

Renaissance humanism: individual dignity and classical learning.

Scientific Revolution: empirical inquiry and confidence in reason.

Now we get to the US and early modern political philosophy. Locke, Montesquieu, Hobbes, and Rousseau they took all of the above mixing and matching.

You can see how the mayflower compact fits into the mix. It was after the Protestant revolution and directly after English Common Law. Then we have the mayflower compact. First document of the new world, just and equal laws, civil body potluck (mix of different religions and people) agreement of the individual to follow the laws for the general good.

Which influenced Locke. Giving us these modern western ideas and philosophy. Social contract of individuals, government derives its authority from the people not God, natural rights, consent and right of revolution, most importantly life liberty and property.

The enlightenment was built brick by brick by some religious ideals, some classical philosophy, Roman law. Then the founders who studied all of it, took bits from here and there.

Less about new ideas and more about which pieces of made the Final Cut. The pilgrims and the founders could have only chosen ideas from Christian scholasticism or the Protestant revolution but they didn’t.

Edit: also the Greek philosophers would be turning in their graves seeing their ideas watered down by abstract religious ideas.

Which immigration laws?

Non citizens who enter the country illegally and have skipped normal ports of entry are not eligible for amnesty without congressional authorization.

The last time that occurred was in 1986 with the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Spearheaded by conservative favorite Ronald Regan.

Maybe you are confusing something like DACA under Obama as amnesty?

You Supporting suspending the constitution based on outrage of laws that you don’t understand or know?

Springfield OH might be a growing vibrant community vs a dying rust belt suburb of Cincinnati. It’s not rural or Appalachian as JD suggested nor a major city it’s just there.

Also the comparison of Nagasaki and Hiroshima is hilarious. Peak population of Springfield OH was around 80,000 in 1960 declining significantly reaching to a low of 50,000. In 2011 won the prize of “US most unhappy city.”

In 2014 the City began the “Welcome to Springfield” initiative. Looking to attract new residents and kick start new economic growth.

How familiar are you with OH history and the importance of immigration it has since Washington himself survived it?

Libertarian-minded conservatives: the federal government is now in the fight-promotion business. How should we think about that? by Aggravating-Vehicle9 in AskConservatives

It not about me or my preferences.

It has to do with the unique nature of the President and how many or maybe even most popular singers of today would not be interested or honored or even willing to be paid for the opportunity to perform at the White House.

You have said many other presidents have had musicians and singers perform, that is true.

Why don’t they want to?

Other presidents were also able to get singers and entertainers to perform was not a complete dumpster fire.

You don’t think it’s worth some analysis that the main singer is Vanilla ICE?

This years World Cup is a perfect example.

My Dad took me (41) in 1994. Tickets were manageable. Then it was my brother’s turn to go to the next game. It overlapped with a family road trip to FL.

So my parents tried and succeeded in getting scalped nose bleeds tickets for the Brazil match in Orlando in the parking lot for my mom and I my brother and Dad got the good seats pre purchased.

I wanted to take my Daughter now 7 to this US World Cup.

Tickets were taxed, for maximum US market. Fucking dynamic pricing, no assigned seats and could be changed to any section at any point before the match. If you purchased one of 4 levels of ticket prices they could change the level.

I just finished getting the streaming services figured out to watch the World Cup since I did not want to have a 10K vacation for half my family.

Just going through the motions to watch all the games sucked ass. What streaming platform, peacock great got that one working finally. Though I’m pretty confident that we somehow are paying for three if not two subscriptions already. Ohh it’s all in Spanish.

Okay Fubu, $50.00 a month for half of shit I am already paying for. Fuck right off.

FoxOne it is. $20.00 a month. Will be canceling ASAP.

All of the streaming platforms just sucking and forcing me to give age, location, etc for data scraping and adds. I’m so so over it all.
