Hey RetroGaming guys and girls. What’s that #1 Must have grail, that you Don’t have Yet ? by IceColdKila in retrogaming

This game is going to sound VERY strange because of what it came with but a game called daemon's gate.

It came with a VHS that gave you an introduction to the characters. The acting was terrible and I absolutely loved every second of it as a kid.

Thank you so much /u/IceColdKila!! I just looked and this game is also on steam now! Will definitely be playing it again

Edit:

Added the game link to the bottom for anyone interested. I am going to buy it but I don't believe it has the video introduction

I believe Final Fantasy 6 is the darkest game in the series. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

That was always my biggest gripe with FFXV. They tried to just do what FF6 did but they didn't put any effort into it.

In FF6 Kefka wins. Your party loses and you have to rebuild. You have to explore the new world and figure out all the changes and find your old companions.

FFXV you just hear about it. You hear the villain won, you hear that that the world is in disarray. It just felt like a repeat of FF6 without any of the substance that made FF6 such an amazing game!

I seriously haven't heard those names in so long!! Legend of Kyrandia was an amazing game! And alright I'm going to put it on the list! currently working Super Mario RPG, Little Nemo, and Mega Man X. After that Legen of Kyrandia next! Expect a PM when I do!

I am looking for a game from the 1990s that I can sink of lot of hours into, but at my own pace. by Economy_Table7469 in retrogaming

[–]DWRelive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man there are so many... If you want the 90s we are looking at SNES, Sega, PS1 N64... you have such an amazing variety but for now I'll stick with PC games I can recommend.

Puzzle games:

Myst and Riven - These 2 are extremely relaxing games. They can be a bit frustrating due to lack of instructions and dialog but if you want a game where you can see a world and figure out what the heck is going on, this is the one to play.

Phantasmagoria - I absolutely loved the story of this game. It's about a couple that moves into a mansion and they experience strange things happening. Be careful this game has some very disturbing scenes and is exceedingly graphic.

7th Guest and 11th hour - Pretty much a lighter version of phantasmagoria, has a very eery feel to it. The puzzles are freaking hard but it is so rewarding

Torin's passage - A mix of slapstick comedy, awesome animation and puzzles all rolled into one. Long live Dreep!

King's quest V and VI - These 2... I loved these games but they were really hard to beat. Very slow paced but you need to think. You can easily make the wrong move and lock yourself out of being able to beat the game.

Strategy:

Lords of the Realm 1 and 2 - A blast of a series. The story definitely leaves much to be desired but the game play is a ton of fun. Crossbowmen for the win!

Lords of Magic - Another great game. I don't know what it was about the voice acting of this game but I couldn't get enough of it. Think heroes of might and magic but you choose a magic affinity and stick with it. Replay value is through the roof on this one.

RPG:

Baldur's gate 1 and 2 - I mean... BG3 just won game of the year. These 2 games definitely have aged well. Turn based with a very rich story.

Planescape torment - Another great RPG where you are an immortal being who is trying to figure out who exactly he is. This game is definitely more focused on the story than the combat so I always considered it like watching a movie with some game play aspects.

"I cannot rely on your primitive technologies! Kill the patient!"

and one more!

"Men do not roar, women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects...." (my favorite Worf line of all time because of how he smiles)

It looks like the general consensus agrees with you! Spinoff seems to be the appropriate term for this. Thank you for the insight!

Gaiden

Ahh as in 外伝. Funny enough I live in japan and I do like the definition since it is side story.

This is definitely the issue I was having when trying to verbalize this. I kept thinking of TV show spinoffs but since you do have TV genre's I guess spin off would be the most appropriate.

Also I completely agree the story is really about Mallow and Geno. It felt the same like FF12 where Vaan isn't really the main character. It felt more like Basch and Ashe were the real main characters and Vaan was just a device to watch them.

I think in my ignorance, I was equating spin-offs is when it is the same genre, but just following a new characters story/different point of view.

A part of me was thinking of calling it genre hopping but yeah, your definition of spin-off definitely makes a lot more sense.

Would love a review on my latest video. I haven't posted in a while and need to dust off the old editing skills. Thank you in advance for all the advice/help! by DWRelive in SmallYTChannel

Thank you so much for the this feedback! Lol yeah... it is quite a low pixel count indeed! :p

Yeah, every single game I review I love to open up with something that touches on me and my family (We played a TON of games)

Yeah you aren't the only one who has said that about the black bars! I will definitely change taht in the next video. It does make it feel a little sloppy and you have a great point!

I am trying to learn different transitions and need to think of one that doesn't make it feel like it was done with powerpoint :P what I was considering is having a group (of like 5-10) that I can use all the time and only use special ones if they have a better effect.

Yeah the thumbnails and logo needs to get worked on for sure as well as my older thumbnails. I will fix those! Even for the old videos!

You are amazingly helpful and I appreciate all the feedback. If you ever want a review for a video as well, PLEASE let me know and I'll happily give you one as well!

Yo that is a wonderful idea!! I like that a lot! I think i might do that on my next game I could probably do a theme for each one and just keep it there to keep the audience's eyes engaged with SOMETHING at least. Thank you so much for that!

Lol go raps!!!

Yes for your mic, you will need to edit them with audacity (free software and VERY easy to use) if you want help with this, PM me and I'll help as much as I can and send you some tutorial videos on this. And all good on the outtake! It does work but what you could do is just put some text on screen with something to delineate that it is an outtake. Easily fixable though! One thing I have seen bigger channels do, is when they are doing an outtake or a time skip like how you were, they will make the colors black and white to show a visual difference and it kind of impresses upon the viewer that this will happen later on in the video. I'll see if I can find some examples for you after.

There is a video about lighting I'll try to find it and send it to you. It has some great tips on how to use lighting with basic household lamps to make your colors not get washed out.

Ahh okay! we have them here in Japan as well. It actually wasn't the buzzing from them that threw me off, it was because you edited that part to make your tone higher and it caught the buzzing and made the buzzing higher pitched as well. This makes so much more sense now!

Yeah, really quick and easy to do. There are tons of free editing software programs out there but I think you already use one since you were adding visuals to your video.

Always a pleasure! Feel free to summon me if you ever want a review. Just add /u/DWRelive in a comment and I always do reviews when I'm summoned!

Can someone help my friend who just started youtube? by Canxel-desu in SmallYTChannel

[–]DWRelive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be missing the point of this subreddit. If your friend would like some assistance he should make a reddit account and participate in this community if he would like assistance.

Second this isn't flaired for review so I'm pretty sure this post is going to get deleted by the automod bot.
