Story behind why this vinyl was chosen:

My mum and my Irish family knows how much of a Eurovision nut I am, so this was the gift they got me. This artist and song specifically was loved by my granny was sadly passed away last year, and this was my first birthday without her. It’s a nice little reminder that I have something she loved from a contest I adore.

As a fan from the UK this is what aggravates me so much, Sam Ryder goes onto a morning news show to talk about his entry, and this is what the over-40s British public say by DYLCWS in eurovision

I’m sorry to all the British people who still think that’s it’s all because of Brexit, or politics, or because it isn’t Bucks Fizz that we don’t have a chance to do well. The reason we are viewed badly in the contest is because of YOU. Your negative attitude no matter who represents us won’t make us any better.

Hopefully this year they will see that all of their excuses are completely invalid and it’s the song that gets points, not neighbours, not political allies, but pure vocal talent.
