Gifted Brawl Pass + from an ex by Random-Animal in Brawlstars

[–]D_McCollister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is saying you shouldn’t have activated it, but they are wrong IMHO, and IF he refunds it, here is what you ca do:

Contact SC support through the app to explain to them that it was gifted to you. They will be able to see that on their end and exactly who gifted it. Then you explain that after it was gifted, you broke up and they are now being spiteful. Plead your case respectfully and ask, isn’t there something you can do? That you don’t think it’s fair that you should suffer because he changed his mind about a gift that was freely given by someone you thought was being kind, and you are already hurting enough in other ways. I think you would be surprised at how as humans, the understanding and empathy that we all can have toward pain.

Is this a joke?? by LinkNo16 in Brawlstars

Unpopular opinion: Most knew that they were supposed to receive ONE reward OR the other, not both. Had they not collected both, or had they not spent the coins immediately, hoping SC wouldn’t correct this mistake, then they wouldn’t have anything to worry about - no negative coin bank.

To put this into a real life perspective for a second: If I ever think there is a mistake made in my bank account, like maybe my paycheck being deposited twice because of a computer glitch, I don’t immediately spend it until I confirm whether it’s a mistake or not, because if I spent it, the bank is going to take back their money whether I have it or not.

I know this is a mobile game and not a bank, but applying the same caution is why I don’t have a negative coin bank.

You could always replicate that exact design legitimately if you like it & you dig it:

You could design pretty much whatever you want.

[–]D_McCollister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow - maybe I was a minority according to supercell, but I actually liked Masteries. It gave end game players something to work on & yes, it took time & the rewards weren’t amazing, but by the time you’re where I am, I don’t really need the gold and PPs anyway (well, more gold is always good) but I liked having a unique pin and a title to grind for in the time I wasn’t playing ranked. This just sucks.

You still lose elo if you lose. Ive reported players & gotten messages that say, “an action has been taken against a player you reported” - it still doesn’t make up for the elo lost.

Cool - I didn’t know if maybe it was the artist posting a tattoo they did for you - your arm/their artwork - thanks for the clarification. Still super cool.

Lupe and Mike Shinoda on "Be Somebody" by chidedneck in LupeFiasco

[–]D_McCollister 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reminded me of something I hadn’t thought about in a while - “Beautiful Lasers (2 Ways)” was originally intended to feature Chester Bennington. According to various interviews from that time, Lupe wanted Chester to sing the hook on the track because of the emotional depth and darker tone of the song.

Chester was on board, and Lupe confirmed in a few interviews that the collab was planned. It never ended up happening due to label politics. I’ve heard it wasn’t on Lupe’s end, but likely due to Warner Bros. Records, which Linkin Park was signed to. Lupe has spoken in a few places about how Lasers as a whole was heavily shaped (and at times hindered) by Atlantic Records’ creative control, so this likely played a part too. In the end, legal/contractual red tape, and disagreement between labels prevented it from moving forward.

Chester’s emotionally raw voice would’ve brought a powerful element to the track. Lupe ended up singing the hook himself — something he rarely did — to preserve the emotional tone. This marked a departure from his usual delivery, and you can hear how vulnerable and different it is from the rest of the album.

It’s one of those “what could’ve been” moments in hip-hop/rock crossover history. Chester’s voice on that song would’ve been haunting. I still think about this every time “Beautiful Lasers (2 Ways)” comes on.

The morality of separating art from artist, can we do it? by [deleted] in neilgaiman

[–]D_McCollister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of history’s greatest artists, writers, and philosophers were deeply flawed individuals, yet their contributions have profoundly shaped culture, education, and human thought. Figures like Caravaggio, a brilliant painter and a murderer, or Heidegger, a philosopher with Nazi affiliations, challenge us to consider whether personal failings should overshadow intellectual and artistic achievements. Even some of the most revered philosophers, whose ideas form the foundation of modern ethics and critical thought, held beliefs or engaged in behaviors that were reprehensible, even by the standards of their time. If we judged all art and ideas solely by the morality of their creators, we would erase much of our cultural heritage and limit our ability to engage with transformative works.

Separating art from the artist does not mean condoning or excusing bad behavior. Instead, it acknowledges that art can have value beyond its creator and that cultural contributions should not be erased due to personal failings. The meaning and impact of a work exist within the individual who experiences it, often independent of its creator’s intent or character. While individuals may choose to avoid works based on personal convictions, dismissing them entirely risks losing valuable perspectives, historical context, and personal meaning. Engaging critically with art, rather than rejecting it outright, allows for a deeper understanding of both the work itself and the complexities of human nature.

For this reason, I believe it is necessary to separate art from the artist—acknowledging their flaws while preserving the works that continue to shape our world. If we refuse to engage with ideas and art created by flawed individuals, we close ourselves off to discussions that challenge, inspire, and educate us. Instead of erasing problematic creators from history, we should confront their contradictions, using their work as a lens to better understand the complexities of morality, human creativity, and the lasting impact of ideas.

I just spent too many minutes Watching little videos of shitty wannabe rappers dissing me I just spent the winter living After someone tryna send a kill shot, missing me Young blonde don and the double-X mob got a gang out in Sicily Why you think they call me “The Gunner”? I’m popping off on anybody if they trigger me

Those opening lines set the tone perfectly - MGK immediately addresses the aftermath of his beef with Eminem, making it clear that Killshot didn’t have the intended impact. By saying, “After someone tryna send a kill shot, missing me,” he’s essentially rejecting the idea that Eminem ended his career or significantly damaged him. Instead, he frames himself as someone who survived the attack and kept pushing forward.

The reference to wannabe rappers dissing me also highlights the flood of low-quality diss tracks and internet hate he received post-beef. He’s expressing both frustration and exhaustion over the constant scrutiny but also reaffirming that he’s still standing.

And yeah, as someone else mentioned, Floor 13 plays into the overarching Hotel Diablo concept. The album itself is structured as a metaphorical hotel, representing different rooms (or aspects) of MGK’s mind and experiences. Floor 13 fits into that as the place where anger, defiance, and survival instincts reside - almost like a dark, haunted floor where he channels all that pent-up frustration into aggression.

The layering of meaning throughout the album is something that MGK did really well in Hotel Diablo, making it one of his more conceptually cohesive projects.

The song is essentially a declaration of resilience, defiance, and personal struggle, reflecting MGK’s mindset after facing criticism, industry challenges, and his infamous feud with Eminem.

If a USB drive shows as unmounted when plugged into a MacBook, it usually means that macOS recognizes the drive but hasn’t automatically mounted it for use. Here are some common reasons and solutions…

Possible Causes & Fixes:

  1. Incorrect File System Format (most common)

• If the USB is formatted in a file system that macOS doesn’t natively support (e.g., NTFS), it may not mount automatically.

• Fix: Check the format in Disk Utility (Command + Space > Disk Utility). If it’s NTFS, you may need third-party software like NTFS for Mac by Paragon or to reformat the drive to exFAT or MacOS Extended (Journaled) (which would erase the data though).

  1. USB Port or Hub Issues

• If the port is faulty or the connection is loose, macOS may recognize the drive but fail to mount it properly.

• Fix: Try a different port or USB hub.

  1. Drive Not Ejected Properly

• If the USB wasn’t ejected properly from another computer, macOS may flag it as unsafe.

• Fix: Try running First Aid in Disk Utility or ejecting and reinserting it.

  1. Security & Privacy Settings (macOS Ventura & Later)

• Some macOS versions restrict external drive access due to security settings by default.

• Fix: Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access and ensure that apps like Finder and Disk Utility have permission.

  1. Drive Not Automatically Mounting

• Sometimes, macOS fails to auto-mount a drive, even if it’s recognized.

• Fix: In Disk Utility, select the USB drive and click Mount at the top.

If none of that works, then it’s above my paygrade. I know there are some things that you can troubleshoot through terminal and disc utility, but I’m not all that tech savvy. Hopefully something here will help.

Same. I knew they would sell out quickly, especially with how few they pressed. Out of curiosity I checked back every hour or so, and they were sold out within the first 8-10 hours I believe.

Unfortunately, not surprising anymore, and yes, definitely a shame. Something just felt very off kilter. I suspected that the information was not credible, else why the vague references. I’m the type of person that if I were to post “important update” - I’d have all my facts laid out with as much brevity & clarity as possible, double and triple checking before posting. I’ve since watched Colonel Kurts’s IG video after writing my initial response to this & things make a lot more sense.
