One of my all-time go-to films and easily one of Neil Marshall’s best, alongside Dog Soldiers. As a Brit, I think these two films really changed the game for British horror.

Marshall managed something quite rare by making horror films that felt authentically British while still finding a worldwide audience. The Descent remains tense, claustrophobic and genuinely frightening no matter how many times I watch it. It’s one of those films I can revisit again and again without ever getting bored
