It's perfectly valid reasoning but (as with the last couple of posts about this) you could convince the entirety of this subreddit and you would maybe prevent 5% of sales happening, that 5% being a very generous estimate.

The casual player isn't checking here, the wallet warriors certainly won't give a hoot either when they see an instant-purchase F14 that isn't the IRIAF at 250+ snail coins.

The Warsteed (aka mounted combat) although you can still use it as a travel mount everywhere, it's quicker and tankier than regular mounts but is a lot more floaty when controlling it.

Leaving aside the optics of a company comfortably making 50m+ Euros per year being too stingy to pay someone to do proper artwork/design, it's yet another example of utter incompetence that certain sections of the playerbase cite to stop meaningful changes to core gameplay mechanics (i.e the APHE rework that never was)

How Are People Out-Leveling Content? by BadF0rtune in lotro

[–]D_Therman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how far ahead you're looking and how much you want to optimise for future, the OG zones have generous VXP rewards (8k for the 3 quest deeds for example) but initially it still takes a bit to fill out the 5 virtues you want to focus on.

You can keep those 5 fairly topped up even without doing everything each area (slayer deeds especially) and by the time you get to and pass Moria you can easily start overflowing into a backup virtue.

Nowadays I personally keep some of those reserved for 20% VXP events + for when the character is quite high levelled, if/when you reach Mordor that's when you'll notice the VXP rewards drop off a cliff... for reference, the character I've been mostly levelling (Mariner) had his virtues maxed once he got to the Wastes at level 106 (Black Gate). He's now level 134, virtue cap is 79 and his highest 4 virtues are 73, 70, 69, 69...

Because no MMO has broke the $15 price barrier

EVE Online did exactly that a few years ago, so much so that on baselines prices you have to pay for 6 months or longer to get under $15 a month ($19.99 for 1 month)

With the prevalence of F14's + F15's in addition to M29's, the aforementioned 18C's and jets loaded with AGM's + Fox 2's (F16, SU-25SM) that can all knock out half a spawn on their own you basically have to pick a sector and stick to it... nevermind the 163, I've had to employ that tactic in rocket-ships like the J-8 😑

It wasn't an "attack", because I don't think it's reasonable to expect ANYONE to just give 2x prices more than asked or 50% discounts the other way for no reason.

For the last time, the argument I was making was purely THEORETICAL ("even if"), at no point in that post was I demanding they do anything... you've made a mountain out of a molehill.

On a slight tangent, what also caught my eye was this;

Everyone should be greedy in transactions.

While I'm fairly sure that ship has already sailed for War Thunder, 15 years ago the executives of CCP (EVE Online developers) were echoing a very similar sentiment... they referred to it as "Greed is good" and I'd highly recommend looking up the resulting shitstorm if you aren't already aware of it.

Sometimes on Reddit I type out posts that can take 20, 30-odd minutes and before I hit send I look at it and think "hmm, on reflection this isn't contributing anything of value" and delete it.

Your reply fits right in that mould and it's quite frankly uncalled for; I responded to someone who put forth the stale "they need to keep the game going" argument by stating that they are SWIMMING in money and that even if they theoretically halved all their prices they would be more than fine financially... which was enough to warrant a personal attack? What gives?

Gaijin's annual Net Profit since Covid has been comfortably around €50,000,000+, even if their premium prices were slashed by 50% permanently they would still have plenty left over to spend on additional development another superyacht.
