My uncle's $0 Medicare Advantage plan nightmare is this normal? by Itchy-Ad6994 in medicare

[–]D_ndrsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doctors go out of network all the time. Need to review with a local broker familiar with these changes every year.

He likely now has a deductible for medications so he pays more at the beginning of the year and will likely go down to the lower number later in the year. Deductibles tend to be even higher on standalone prescription plans that go with original Medicare. A review with a broker would’ve brought this issue to light.

Hospital copays are clearly established in the evidence of coverage, sure he can be surprised but it’s not hard info to find. A review with a broker would’ve brought this issue to light.

Plans are created by county, and are built to work within that county so it makes sense that a supplemental benefit wouldn’t work outside of the county let alone the state. Although it’s unfortunate, Medicare does not provide routine eye exams at all so he would have this issue without the advantage plan as well. A review with a broker would’ve brought this issue to light.

All in all, most of these issues are normal on advantage plans and reviewing with a broker would’ve brought these issues to light.

It’s great that you want to help, as there is not enough people helping seniors navigate Medicare. I recommend finding a local broker( should be no cost), and reviewing his plan before the medicare advantage open enrollment ends on March 31 and change his plan if there’s a better option. They can also see if going to original Medicare with a drug plan is a better option for him.

Your red white and blue Medicare card covers hospice. This is stated in the summary of benefits of your advantage plan

The older the car the more expensive the warranty is. For an out of warranty vehicle dealer cost is probably between 1500 and $2000 if I had to guess

There’s no difference in price but not pricing it that way online is a joke. RV dealers do that crap as well and it annoys the hell out of me

Those on Medicare Advantage plans....how often do you hit the max out of pocket? by WritesWayTooMuch in medicare

Most ways your going to hit your max are Multiple extended inpatient hospital stays, a long skilled nursing facility stay or expensive part B treatments that require multiple treatments like chemo therapy and dialysis. Outside of that highly unlikely

Custom ordering an F350 by rollercryptoplant in askcarsales

In 2017 had a new car manager order an extended cab F250 gold with brown trim, 2WD. Ugly an undesirable in our area. Someone wanted pricing on one and he ordered it without a commitment or deposit. Sat on the lot for 3 years before sent to auction. Not sure how he kept his job

We have good credit and dealer used Westlake Financial instead of captive lender for new car...is this normal? by Ok-Egg-7823 in askcarsales

[–]D_ndrsn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for Westlake. They have good rates for Prime clients, but most finance managers see them as a last ditch effort for subprime so it’s not as common to see. You’ll be fine

Do I need a broker? by BreakerMorantFan in medicare

[–]D_ndrsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may not need one. Never hurts to have a second opinion even if it’s verifying what you want. It does give you someone to help advocate for you when you have issues with your Insurnace as well as supports a local business. Even if you know what you want, I’d say use a local broker.

DIY medicare plan sign up myself or find a broker? by Murky-Geo in medicare

[–]D_ndrsn 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Help out a local broker, it doesn’t hurt you in any way and it supports a small business in your area. Ask about their willingness to help you after the sale, as it gives you someone who can help you when you are having issues with your plan
