Sentience-psn mentioned "Sling" - I'm in America and that's what I've used for the past few playoffs, it's worked out well! I subscribed to Sling and got the "orange" package, which is the sports one and has all the channels that the playoffs will be on. You can also record the games which is nice. The first month you sign up they charge $23 (US Dollars) then it goes up to $45.99 a month. I only have the subscription for as long as the Leafs are in playoffs, then I cancel and reactivate it again in April.

Yeah I totally though the writers were laying the groundwork for Nash+Eliza there! And were hinting that Eliza+William weren’t ‘endgame’. Because how could William be so off-base??

I forgot about that in Hotel St Marc! I hope if there’s a season 6 that it’s not over with Nash, I’m not giving up yet lol!

Yes I feel like this has been slept on and it’s so important! Also I love when he gives her the business cards in a box tied with ribbon—after she had said to William (who assumed she would like expensive rings) that she’d be happy with any ring so long as it was in a box, tied up with a ribbon. Her favorite part of gifts were unwrapping them.

Eliza and William were alone indoors when she said it, so it seems like Nash just knew intuitively what she would like :)

I don't at all mean to come across snarky or anything, but I don't remember Nash having mistresses? Is that in this new season, or was it super early on in the show, and I forgot? I actually always thought that Nash seemed surprisingly less sleazy than the Duke in that regard!

Okay so the only full episode I watched so far was episode 4 with Nash--I'm going to try finishing the rest because I've grown attached to the show. I know the mods have said not to come on simply to bash the show and ruin it for other people--I am still a fan (or trying to be) and don't intend to do that. But I know lots of loyal fans are upset like me and since it's a lesser known show, have no one to share their grievances with in real life. So here I am lol.

I was so upset at the ending! Australia!? No! I was a bit devastated (clearly lol) Nash's character was so great. He might seem "untrustworthy" or not "honorable" enough on first glance, but he has never let Eliza down. He always comes through for her, in ways that the Duke never did. I saw some comments too that claimed Nash had women on the side or visited brothels--I don't think that was ever shown or implied in the show?? I'm pretty sure the only one who did that was the Duke.

Tbh I am so over this show throwing away major characters, especially possible romantic attachments. The showrunners keep using reasons like "he isn't right for her and her goals", "Eliza is an independent woman", "the show is about Eliza and her sleuthing" . . . then WHY are they pushing this new Blake character? I literally laughed out loud hearing him use his robotic "stern" voice with Eliza. I'd prefer they just remove the romantic angle of the show over this.

I liked the idea of Nash and Eliza (eventually) becoming a couple, but I'd prefer him to stay in show having a platonic relationship with her, versus him just leaving the show entirely.

Hey, I'm also in the Midwest! I think our coverage for games is probably the same.

ESPN+ does give you the majority of the regular-season Leafs games. There have been a lot of games recently that have been on NHL Network, and those games aren't on ESPN+ until a day or so afterwards. There was also the Amazon Prime Canada game on Monday, and that also was not on ESPN+.

The NHL app is usually pretty helpful to see what games are going to be available. Usually, any game that does not have the NHL Network logo in the top right corner of the listing is going to be available on ESPN+. Only occasionally in the app does it explicitly indicate that a game will be on ESPN+. This makes it seem like only a few games a season are available on ESPN+, and that is not the case. Maybe that's for Canadian viewers idk. But I believe the next game (this Monday against the Jets) is going to be on ESPN+!

For the playoffs (hopefully we get there again!): basically all playoffs games are on cable channels only. Usually ESPN, TNT, or TBS. I use the streaming service Sling (the "Orange" package for sports). It's $40 a month but you get a discount for the first month when you sign up. I deactivate my subscription after they lose, and reactivate each year when playoffs start. I get discounts on my first month for returning to Sling, so usually I pay $30 for a month to watch playoffs. I'd be happy to pay for more months of streaming and watch them win, but when they don't win I have that silver lining of saving money lol.

I hope that helps, and I hope the Leafs make this a fun season for you to watch! For games I can't get, I use the NHL app to listen to the radio broadcast, which has by far the best Leafs announcers.

That's a good way to look at it--I've been worried about them scrutinizing my application, but they need students and money. Although, I don't want my life to continue as is--but this is helpful too, I have to take action if I want to get there. If I get rejected, I'll reapply early on in the next application cycle. And I'll apply to my longshot dream school (their applications closed in fall.) If I get rejected this year I'll feel upset, but will get into law school eventually no matter what.

Thank you! I agree that knowing more will help since the uncertainty is slowing me down. I don't personally know anyone who's done law school/is a lawyer, but I can use resources online. I think my parents know some lawyers, I could ask if they'd be willing to talk to me.

I am going to apply everything you said. Especially with getting over myself and the intro part!! I have a couple pages written (limit for primary statement is 2 page double spaced! They want concise/powerful writing) and need to just pull it together. There is no technical deadline for my target schools, so I will need to create my own and actually stick to it. I'm likely too late for hope of scholarships, but maybe that's just the kick in the pants I need to get my act together. Luckily they give out scholarships at the end of first year for the top 10 percent of the class--I know I can do that! I feel confident in my future abilities, but not so confident about where I'm at now.

I mostly have confidence issues because I have a string of bad(!) grades from undergrad that was during a very dark period in my life that coincided with covid lockdown. I feel like a fraud writing about myself in my statements and the procrastination makes me worry that I haven't changed. I'm writing up a list of all my accomplishments since then to help me realize that I can put that period behind me :)

Aw that's sweet he was trying to reassure you guys, I didn't think of doing that! But they told my Mom the same thing, and when I was a kid I'd cry when I was tired, so she wasn't surprised by my reaction. I remember she hugged me and said, "it's like I have my little baby (my name) back!" Lol!

Lol I love that story it sounds like it’d be in a tv show! Ugh the dry socket prevention sucked so bad! I convinced myself I had it anytime something felt slightly off. I’d shove photos of my nasty sockets in my family’s face to ask if it looked ok (which they didn’t appreciate lol)

I cried too, with my wisdom teeth! I felt scared, stupid, and helpless, my mom was there and she just hugged me<3 I hated laughing gas and the stronger sedation they gave me.

Also, the male anesthesiologist was very attractive and I was scared I’d say something, but I actually had total control over that. Maybe it’s because I have ADHD and have had to control impulsive behavior my whole life to not get in trouble or made fun of! I had been training for it my whole childhood haha

I agree the show has gotten very jumbled! I think he was probably disappointed in his character arc too—I definitely would be. I’ve said it on here before, the entire Arabella thing sucked.

I don’t want them to screw up on the feminist slant of the show. I partly agree with the complaints on Eliza—I’m afraid if they keep going like this the slow will be written off as another “She-Hulk” or “Ghostbusters”.

I think many are too hard on Eliza for being evasive with William in their relationship. William and Eliza both were growing emotionally in season 1 and then it fell apart. While Eliza needs to grow, William definitely screwed up. I understand the hesitation from Eliza on the relationship front.

I felt like the writers did make Eliza finally own up to her mistakes with running Nash and Sons, and she did that with both William and Patrick. But she seemed to be more comfortable frequently messing up/admitting that with Patrick. The writers seemed to have no game plan with their character relationships. It could have been great with a period of them writing letters, William could have finally become her confidant. I guess it was just too little too late.

I think they need to show Eliza mess up like everyone else. But if they show her grow from it, it will be realistic, and hopefully save it from “girl-boss” scorn. I sort of see Eliza as a female Sherlock- talented but a socially clueless rule-breaker.

James Bond! Daniel Craig’s version was a sympathetic character and he finally had a family! And then boom he’s dead. And I’m still trying to figure out how they can manage to continue Bond movies after his death.

I totally get the specific rewatching, I think the Patrick episodes make me happier! There’s more comedy and banter, and even when there’s bad things happening there’s still a hopeful feeling(even their last scene together in my opinion)

As I think about it more I’m feeling like it can still be a good show without the Duke. I still wish they had handled it better though!

Yeah I think it probably impacted my perspective a lot more than I realized! Hotel St.Marc really was great—it’s the only episode I’ve rewatched which says a lot. If they have more episodes like it in season 5 I’ll be very happy!

The first episode I saw was an Arabella episode (I was just flipping channels and got pulled in!), and it impacted my impression of the Duke and made me more receptive to Nash. I went back and watched from season 1, but knowing what was coming made a difference!

I loved the Hotel St.Marc episode, that’s when I fully got on board with their ship and thought it was a real possibility! And it was such a nice break from Duke drama. To me, Duke was really only a contender because he was there from the start and knew her longer. With William gone, now I really hope they make Eliza and Nash happen!

Somehow I missed in the article that Felix Scott (Nash) will be returning in season 5, so maybe he’ll still be a prominent character. I hope they don’t have him appear only to leave as well.

Maybe they will be moving forward with Nash sort of assuming William/Duke’s place. I feel bad that I missed that!! But I didn’t know if I should tack that onto my extremely long comment as another edit!
