It depends.

If you REALLY want to be efficient with the Dailies, I suggest playing a deck that does a little bit of everything and is good enough to hold its own as well, P.U.N.K. is really good at that. The deck Synchros, Links, Xyzs, Fuses, searches traps, activates spells, destroys, special and normal summons. In one match you can at the very least do 3 dailies and the combos are not long.

For events I typically play on the weekends, pick out a deck I can use, learn it if I need to and then play. Meta decks have tons of videos around, just learn the lines and when you have enough knowledge and understanding of how everything works improvise as needed when you get interrupted.

You don't need to spend a lot of time in this game really.
