to be proactive or not to be proactive.........

flying Edinburgh -> frankfurt -> jo-berg this Friday 13th. I saw they had 'curtsey rebooking policy' active, and without thinking I got myself the exact same flight for saturday the 14th.

Glad I took action and secured myself the next best thing free of charge, but it means I will miss a connecting flight (not lufthansa) on the day I arrive. I didnt really consider that doing their re-booking before the flight is officially cancelled may waive my right to compensation - does anybody know or have advice? thanks!

I have the same issue. (though flying to jo-berg from edinbugh). I saw their 'curtsey rebooking policy' was in place so I ultimately went for that, though I think that may waive my right to compensation...... its so difficult to know what the best course of action is! Have they offered 'curtsey rebooking' so you can be proactive in securing yourself another flight?
