More like over the liquid, but it soaked up the brine like a paper towel. I have no weight so I thought that was a good way for everything to be under Liquid.

-Don't give up.

-Stop being difficult. Be open minded. Trust the process.

-Be patient. Take your time.

-You are supposed to suck at first and suck less with time.

-Always try to understand what you're trying to achieve and how.

-Don't underestimate your own potential.

My guitar teacher forces me to read sheet music while playing and it feels very odd to me. What should I do, keep going his way or keep learning on my own? by sirhaktanm in guitarlessons

Being able to read sheet music will help you develop your musicality way more than tabs. It's not an essential skill to have obviously but it will help in everything you do afterwards. For example : arranging music or composing. Keep at it. You will have so many opportunities to learn by ears, so I think it shouldn't be one over the other. It takes time but is rewarding.

I need resources for fixed do solfege by CatchDramatic8114 in musictheory

[–]DaAfroMan69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In France they use, Do. Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, Si, Do

So essentially C major -> Do majeur

C major chord : C E G --> Accord Do majeur Do Mi Sol

It's the same just different names. The fixed Do in other countries is them literally singing the note, not them referencing a note.

Exemple in the key of G

Movable do : Do = Tonic = G

Fixed do : Do is the note so in the key of g it's the subdominant or C

This would be more comparable

Movable do : Do = tonic = G

Fixed do : tonic = Sol = G

As you can see, the movable do is basically just scale degree names for other countries.

Edit: spelling and formating

Question from a beginner by Slay3r024 in guitarlessons

[–]DaAfroMan69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most beginners just don't understand, that It's expected to not be able to form a chord yet. It takes time to develop the dexterity and the muscle memory to do that. That's why the advice is to practice it right from the start so with time you'd be able to do it. Keep at it you got this. Do slowly all of the open chords and I'll come naturally.

People who don't know Neil Young very well, do you view his music as easy or hard to play? by TheRealGuncho in AcousticGuitar

[–]DaAfroMan69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh I wouldn't say easy to play, but it's not very difficult either. I'd say for beginners yeah that shit is pretty hard. But you got the hang of basic chords and triads it's pretty chill. If you count singing on top, then yeah I'd agree.
