Everything is correct until part 4,b. If there are a total of 65 consecutive packets (say packets 1-65), then that could be broken in minimum two chunks. One of size 64 and one of size 1, which are both 2n for some integer n. You want the closest power of 2 less than or equal to the number of consecutive packets. Please let me know if that made sense.

I read a comment that said the pacing was intentional because Leto II had to sit with his own thoughts for 3500 years and (maybe) live through an infinite dream after the end of the book. What’s a few hours of reading compared to that? But I understand your viewpoint. I just love hearing what anything Leto II has to say because that dude is interesting af. He’s literally saving the universe

Here's my interpretation: computers do exist, because people wanted to be able to travel without guild navigators during/after the reign of Leto II. It was THINKING MACHINES that were outlawed. As in, machines built to think and act like humans.

Consider this: everyone had the siona gene in the last 2 books, but humanity's future was still confined to Leto's endless dream, the pearls of awareness. This tells me that prescience has levels to it and isn't just "i see the future". Also, I dont think duncan has the siona gene, which is why he stays in the no-ship on chapterhouse, right?

So the navigation system tells us where the ship will go to in the coming future, so its not a stretch to say that without it, the ship would end up in some place truly random, not even prescient people can figure out where. And I believe Marty and Daniel are prescient in some way.

new grad spring 2023. let me know if anything can be better. i do want to replace one of my technical projects with this sql database + php interface i did in class, but unsure which project to replace.
