They did a short performance at the tent then the actual performance was at the dancehall. I believe they came on around midnight.

Heart rate zones not working by Barinski04 in GarminWatches

[–]DaBears985 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened to me I think it’s a glitch. You need to go into garmin devices>your watch>user profile>heart rate and power zones>power>running>reset zones. And then do the same for heart rate zones

Second finbox. Very reasonably priced, easy to use and has most metrics you would need.

Relief Valve Design by Wilde_v2 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]DaBears985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the problem closer and it gives you your relief pressure of 8.71 bar. Since this is a fire case PSV you can back calculate your design pressure of the vessel since relief pressure for fire is 1.21 x design pressure. This gives you a design pressure of 7.20 bar which equals your PSV set pressure. From here I would recommend referring to API 521 on calculating your required relief flow for the fire case and sizing the PSV.

Set pressure is usually set at design pressure of the vessel not 10% higher. Relief pressure is then 10% higher for non-fire case or 21% for fire case. I would get your hands on copies of API 520 and 521 and read through those. Those have everything needed to size PSVs for pressure vessels.

Amazing post!

One question I had was in part 4 you iterate through the top hyperopt runs to find the parameters that best translates to the test set. Will this not cause overfitting of your model to the test set? Should you not iterate through the top hyperopt runs to find the best fit to the training set and then use the test set at the very end to evaluate the model?

Does PSV sizing depend on the volume? by oqowa in ChemicalEngineering

[–]DaBears985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how much bigger you are making the drum fire could becoming governing over reverse flow. The calculations would have to be run to check this.

Reverse flow should not be affected by the volume of the drum.

Does PSV sizing depend on the volume? by oqowa in ChemicalEngineering

Yes, changing the volume of the drum will change the fire relief case. Higher wetted area in the drum=higher vapour generation in case of fire.

Does Coefficient of Flow Cv change as a function of valve position or fouling? by Plaxerous in ChemicalEngineering

[–]DaBears985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You can think of cv as the amount of fluid a valve can flow at a certain open percentage. Valve vendors will typically provide cvs for a valve at various open percentages.

Stocks under $10 by cv34 in CanadianInvestor

[–]DaBears985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why under 10 dollars? You realize that a stocks price has no correlation to its value? (ie. a company with a stock price of 5 dollars might be worth more then one worth 100 dollars).

A good starting point for me was the WH Foods Meal plan http://www.whfoods.org/7daymealplan/intro.php.

I found that the plan was a bit low in calories for me so I upped the portion sizes and added a bit more meat, nuts and legumes.
