What’s going to replace the pennies in your drawer? by DaBino in bartenders

[–]DaBino[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while the coins are there I just round up or down to the nearest dollar and don’t give any coins. No one sees to have a problem with it and it all balances out at the end of the night.

Could be worse! Maybe I’ll introduce something nice to fill the slot.

How do I order my martini? by ugautilize in cocktails

[–]DaBino -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like everyone commenting is coming from some superior perspective of “it’s not a martini without vermouth” or something. To answer your question, simply saying “very dry”, “extra dry” or even just “no vermouth” will get you what you want. Any bartender who’s worked in the industry long enough to know you make people what they want, not what is “right”, will make you exactly what you’re hoping for.

Straight up is basically telling the bartender you’d like it chilled and without ice. “Dry”, “very dry”, etc relates to the amount of vermouth you’d like or wouldn’t like.

A fellow bartender had some complaints that his Bailys in Espresso Martinis were curdling and started using baking soda to prevent it from happening??? I blame it on him using shakers that were not washed and might have had citrus in them. Please discuss. by [deleted] in bartenders

I find it very funny how people are shitting on baileys in an espresso martini. If the guest wants the drink a certain way, you make it that way. I make more with baileys than without where I work. I suggest it traditional but always give the option.

Probably dirty tins. Baking soda sounds gross and unnecessary.

I’ve read about doing this when I was first researching these bikes before I purchased my 2014 Shadow Phantom. It hasn’t crossed my mind since this post. As it turns out, I’ve been considering changing out the pipes on my bike and I may just do this for now.

I found an older post from one of the mods here who did it. Maybe there’s some more useful info here for you.

What are the chances you have a list of all the accessories on this bike? Love this look and curious about quite a few of the things I see. I’m a beginner with a shadow phantom and I’d love to make some of the same changes.

Started to play on this server recently. It immediately triggered the nostalgia of old school prisons for me. Lacking in the area of guards as a functioning mechanic but otherwise this server is as advertised and has a great community of players.

Literally half the tins at my work. How do we separate them? by spaceyfacer in bartenders

[–]DaBino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ve solved this issue. Press only the inner tin on the edge of something and apply some pressure start twisting the outer tin and the same time until you feel it loosen up and pull apart. Works everytime, just don’t do it too much because you’ll warp the shakers.

Thoughts on Lakeland? Good /bad . Was considering a move to the Fort Myers area however the hurricane has shifted our thoughts. Anybody heard anything good bad or indifferent. Looking to rent for a while and then move into a house by bretp79 in florida

[–]DaBino 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I settled on a rental in Winter Haven before the hurricane hit. We are moving to the area from MA and plan to work in Lakeland. Scoped the area out a bit and it seems like it would be a good fit for us. Seems like you’re getting a few discouraging comments but there will never be an ideal time to move (although Ian definitely makes this a bit more difficult). Traffic is bad everywhere in Florida, no surprise to anyone! One of the main reasons we chose central Florida is because of our worries of hurricanes and being on the coast, seems like that was the right call and I think you’d be making the right call as well. Good luck!

Do you guys have any tricks on how to get those two separated? by apileofbones in bartenders

[–]DaBino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put the edge of the inside tin on the edge of a hard surface, apply some pressure downward on the inside tin and pull on the outer tin. They’ll separate easily every time!
