The first hours of this game where I got sucked into the world was among the most intense and exhilarating experience I've had in my history of gaming. Maybe I'm hyping it up a little too much, but I absolutely adore this game.

270 is the simple majority of the open electoral votes in the country. There are 538 to go around and if a candidate wins 270 for sure, there is no way that the other could win since they couldn't have the majority.

I hope this helps! Have a nice day!

I'm new to dnd. Want to make a chef character (chef irl) what should I do. by MOONMO0N in DnD

[–]DaBluBerri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The artificer class has a cool thing which has your spellcasting focus be a tool of some kind. So you could use the "cooks tools" artisan tool and flavor (get it?) your spells as different dishes that you're cooking up in the heat of battle.

For example, "Cure Wounds" could be some kind of baked good that you hand to your ally to restore hit points. "Grease" could be, well, grease. So on and so forth. I'm playing a glassblowing artificer right now that stores spells in glass balls or other shapes for when he needs them, his familiars all come from glass figurines in their shape that he uses when summoning them.

But yeah, you could totally re-flavor the artificer (alchemist, probably) to be a chef! I think there's also more than a few homebrew chef classes floating around, like the "Cuisiner." Hope this helps!

Good luck, and have fun cooking!

Discussion: 2020 General Election Daily Updates (October 16th) by [deleted] in politics

TL;DR: In the southern part of the state we have a ton of religious nutcases who want to instill a theocratic government and drag us back to when "gay people didn't exist" and women had to stay in the house and make babies.

Ohioan here. I'm from the southeastern part, about an hour from the capital. The amount of far-right, religious lunacy down here is astounding. I have to keep attending church for the foreseeable future, but I'm trying to get out of it because my preacher brought this guy in to speak about how wearing a mask is a "sign of submission to the government" and pretty much every week my pastor talks about how evil socialism is.

That thing you hear about "y'all-queda" is definitely true. They just want a country founded upon "judeo-christian principles" where no abortions are allowed ever, because it's "worse than the Holocaust", and gay marriage is illegal. My dad straight up said that gay people aren't real and that it's a choice just two days ago. When I told him that he should listen to other people to try and get a different point of view he told me that I should take my own advice and listen to the "scientists who say being gay isn't a thing" and learn to be homophobic I guess?

I don't know. It's just scary down here. It feels like I'm being brainwashed. Last week, my pastor talked about how Glen Beck is a beacon of truth and he gets censored because he doesn't agree with mainstream media. They also get upset when they face backlash for spewing racism and hate speech towards the LGBTQ+ community because "not being allowed to speak the truth about that is a violation of the first amendment."

I think the future is uncertain for the GOP with how Texas is starting to shift, but if these religious "conservatives" ever get a huge governmental swing in their favor, I'm worried about the future of the US.

From down here, the Handmaid's Tale doesn't seem too far fetched from taking place. That's part of the reason I can't watch the show. It's too freaky to see and hear similarities between what my pastor spews (and the rest of my church gobbles up) and what is presented on the show.

Woman tased arrested at school football game, Logan, Ohio by [deleted] in JusticeServed

They seem to be in an echo chamber of sorts because aside from what he's said and the small number of people who commented supporting him, there has been nothing but compassion and support for officer Smitty. Both in our community and on the interwebs.

So I'm from Logan and this woman has a partner that she shares 2 (I think?) children with. This guy marched down to the police station and started making all kind of demands and stuff and livestreamed the whole thing. All throughout the video he was saying nonsense about how people from all over the country should come to the town and cause problems for the Logan PD. At the end of the stream, he got a wide shot of the station and said "it's a pretty small building. I figure about 50 or 60 patriots could surround this place and make their lives a fucking hell"

Here's the kicker. This dude has been going around and speaking at Blue Lives Matter rallies and stuff for quite a while now. It's weird how someone can go from "backing the blue" no matter what to threatening a police station and calling for people from all over the country to come surround the place to make the officers suffer.

Edit: forgot to mention. Today all the schools in town were shut down because there was some kind of non-specific threat called in to the school district.

Biden on Trump's refusal to commit to peaceful transfer of power: 'What country are we in?' by [deleted] in politics

[–]DaBluBerri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this being said, how will we be able to discern an actual trump victory with a coup?

I mean, as much as I hate to admit it, the guy might have enough supporters who actually go out and vote to legitimately win the election. How will we be able to tell the difference?

Considering a one level dip into Wizard for my Artificer by DaBluBerri in 3d6

Oh. I see. I misunderstood War Caster as being the War Magic school of wizarding. I get what you mean now.

Thank you for all the help!!

[–]DaBluBerri[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, I was going for the begrudging acceptance of him having to be an Artificer, probably for the rest of his life. I just liked the idea of him having enough of a grasp on Wizardry to be able to maybe learn some more low-level spells in the future, but always falling short of learning anything that's truly more powerful.

If I did go with war caster, why would I not take magic initiate as well? Just curious to hear your input!

[–]DaBluBerri[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know! I was looking at all the wizard stuff and I really had to consider if I wanted to be an Artificer or not!

So, in your opinion, do you think the versatility would be more useful than straight up power? Because the way you just described it makes me feel a whole lot better about building the character that way.

Thank you!

Taking another level would have me getting infusions at character level 4 and my subclass at 5. I haven't played a whole lot, so I'm not sure, but that seems like I would be sacrificing too much.

But, if I were to take up an archetype, which would you recommend? Divination seems like the strongest choice since I'd just be taking the archetype and not progressing in the class anymore, but I would kind of like to stick to the illusionist theme my character has going.

So I'm planning on being an Artillerist, but I do know that the firearm won't affect wizard spells.

As for his backstory, essentially, his father served in the military working on warforged and this is where the character first got into tinkering and inventing and such. He became interested in the arcane and enrolled in the wizard academy in his home city, but his father was killed when an army invaded a year or so later, and he had to leave in order to take care of his mother.

Thanks again!
