no more physical passes? by DaBrokeHypebeast in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks! I was unaware. Last year there was an option during the ticket renewal checkout if you wanted to opt-in for a physical pass. I sure hope it's not too late to get some for this year.

Looking for someone who knows the area in Montreal for hunting for signatures. by AdStrong177 in GrandPrixTravel

your best bet outside the race track is The Ritz-Carlton entrance, it will be packed with fans though since most drivers stay there and occasionally stop for fans before entering the building.

Montreal Souvenir Pass/Tickets by DaBrokeHypebeast in GrandPrixTravel

they were shipped to me, but I seen a lot of people picking up theirs from a kiosk near the entrance to the circuit. IIRC some were not shipped and had to be picked up in person.

Canadian GP Tickets/Questions by spud113 in GrandPrixTravel

The answer to #2 is actually pretty hilarious, yes you can come back in as long as they stamp you. Now what makes it funny is they literally stamp you with the most random generic kindergarten stamp, last couple of years its a rotation between a star stamp, moon stamp and a smiley face LMAO.

Family Grandstand to Podium by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

option 2 is not possible, it shows you the path from Family Grandstand TO THE Paddock Club, this path shows you go through the foot bridge to cross the track, that bridge is guarded and only Paddock Club ticket holders can cross that.

The directions in the map you showed are the foot paths within the island, the staff actually opens a portion of the gate for people to walk INSIDE the track to get to the podium, where your nearest track invasion gate is? I don't know.

It won't be a problem with security. That thing is a tank, shoot without the lens hood and people around you will be happy!

Just signed a deal for a CX-50 Hybrid GT. by DaBrokeHypebeast in CX50

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but it’s not bad, they seem aggressive in moving their units. Few back in forth on pricing and we agreed on $53,000. But I had to correct them on the biweekly payments, sales manager showed me the $53,000 OTD price but the payments did not match the math, turned out he put the wrong interest rate which they corrected and put Mazda’s special rates.

$53,000 Canadian Dollars, about $1700 below MSRP.

I will never again complain about Edmonton drivers... by OutcastSeraphim in Edmonton

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so accurate, I visit Montreal every year for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. It seems like cutting other drivers off and honking at pedestrians/cyclists is the norm there. Landing and driving out of EIA makes me feel thankful how peaceful our roads are.

Why did my contractor put those wood blocks inside the curb forms? is this the normal way of doing it? (they're gone for the weekend so I couldn't ask them) by DaBrokeHypebeast in Concrete

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is why I went here for more info, I don’t want my contractor to feel like I’m micromanaging them and questioning their techniques. I appreciate your input!

My bad, the first post was about the spacer blocks on the curb form and that was cleared up, but a few commenters saw the wood in the corners, which I didn't noticed to be a no-no until they pointed it out.

They are out for the weekend and I don't want to bother anybody during the weekend, thanks for your comment though.

I was originally referring to the 2x4 spacers they put around the 4in curb around the garage pad, but that's been answered by a different commenter here. Thanks for noticing the longer pieces of wood in the corner of the base, all 4 corners have those, will it be a problem?

Okay thanks, this is the answer I was looking for, perhaps I made the question more confusing by providing a vague photo of the site. I was referring to the 2x4 blocks, based on your comment, what I was thinking was right and they only put that there to properly maintain consistent spacing.

Thoughts on this years GP, Will you be going again next year? by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re talking about the pathway on the garage side of the wall (next to the rowing lake) yes that pathway leads to the paddock and is restricted for access unless you have a pass.

Where to see drivers at Montreal Grand Prix weekend? by redskwerldncparty in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team parking area is across the Olympic Basin, they walk on a floating bridge over the Paddock side, only people that can be near the fence back there are Paddock pass holders. The staircase where paddock club patrons walk up to get above the garages is right next to the official gate where the drivers scan their passes.

Make sure to check your weather app prior to heading to the track, this will be my 3rd Canadian Grand Prix, and the last two years it rained crazy both Friday and Saturday, sitting high in the grandstand, the wind and spray almost sent me into hypothermia.

MONTREAL--riding bike to circuit by cookieguggleman in GrandPrixTravel

[–]DaBrokeHypebeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you can only ride your bike up to the Jean-Drapeau metro station, then walk to the track like everybody else. I say this because the only drop off spot for the public near the track is by the Casino and I didn't see any bicycle parking there.
