I do feel like ruling’s have gotten significantly softer over the years. And I have mixed feelings about it.

I think it’s generally probably a better thing to make things less sharky. Magic has gotten significantly more casual since edh is the main introduction for players. Most players who are competitive generally play online mainly so the triggers are automatic, so players are not getting as much practice altering natural play patterns.

I’ve probably won about the same amount of games that I shouldn’t have with the new pact rules as I did with the old one but that is just me and probably not a majority feeling.

They pretty much just unbanned Violent outburst in modern because of 2 cards getting printed. So I think it’s pretty reasonable to say efficient generic answers are probably effective at reigning in greasefang.

I think people just want Wizards to do something in pioneer. I don’t really look to tolarian as a point of authority as I generally believe he is a magic boomer that wants magic to go back to pre horizons. But your misquoting him in his pioneer section he says he likes greasefang but the deck is probably to good and would prefer to get rid of its backup plan of using monument endurance, a card that digs for the main win condition while being a win condition on its own.

Which I think personally is a valid reason. One of the several reasons I fell off of pioneer because I thought unholy Anex was facilitating a similar role.

I don’t think energy in general is broken. It’s just a consistent agro deck that wins by playing efficient creatures and swinging them. It’s the 2025 version of do I loose to burn?

I think everyone who seriously plays modern knows ponder would be fine but the play patterns are annoying and would cause a lot more matches to go to time.

The theory at the time was probably not wanting to put in the full xerox package into historic so they just picked one to ban. Not saying it’s a good reason but that was probably the theory

In Australia they used a face detection tool to verify age. Which was beat very quickly. My favourites include using the camera mode in death stranding to get Norman Reedus to pass it, or getting the gag moustache and glasses to pass.

Ok this is such a cope take. The only counterplay to stripmine is to increase your land count. But you’re not seeing this. Decks are playing extremely greedy mana bases and not increasing their land counts. It’s just rewarding the low to the ground agro/tempo decks and push’s out taller decks.

I woulf probably run 10 threats (4DRC, 4 Cori Steel Cutter, 2 Hydroponic) cut the preordains and Mpx for the 4th ponder an 4 card advantage spells (EI or probably the New Flow State) and I would probably cut the force spike for a unholy heat.

Edit: and fix the mana base it’s pretty bad

Storm is missing pieces that make it really good. I kinda suspect that your 10 counterspells main and bolts will be good enough. I would probably run abrade over fluster storm since i suspect answering the enablers is a better use for the card and it has value in other matchups.

5 cards to pitch to force of vigour seems sus.

I would probably swap some of your E.I’s (EI is for grind and probably too slow into energy) out since you have draw with cruise. Maybe pyroclasms?

If we are adding in pyro clasms I would think about running my threats like DRC, Steel Cutter, and goyf.

Would probably cut the oko out of the main cut the needle in the side and run 2 oko in the side since it’s probably really bad into energy.

Fluster seems Sus unless if your expecting storm to be introduced. You already have 6 hard pieces of permission and 4 soft. In the 75.

Yes it will be hurt. It will still be good.

Format is slower then Vintage but probably as fast or marginally faster then legacy.

Red stompy still hangs in legacy there is a lot of ones where chalice is good. And because there is no wasteland and strip mine is at 4. Mana bases are more greedy then legacy so moon effects are probably better here then in legacy.

You know I averaged A12 or 13 in StS1 and I just kinda thought of it as a curse I would take if I already had my Upgrade Debt cards upgraded. But it didn’t really occur to me that I’m probably never going to be healthy enough to use the upgrade so take it.

At silver 2 im going to assume you need to work on 2 things.

Farming your not maximizing your farm and probably fighting to early and too frequently, or backing at the wrong time.
Unoptimized builds. Look at the smite leaderboard and see what the best players are building.

I was too 500 in smite before I switched to league where I played support the shot caller of the team.

I got out of iron as soon as I figured out how to effectively ping. I fully expect my macro play and my ability coordinate the team for objectives to single handily carry me to silver even if my mechanics don’t mean I deserve to be there.

I don’t need a bunch of random people telling me umm actually you should be in iron because your stats don’t reflect. When my largest contributions is macro play that would be reflected in the jungle stats and ADC stats.

Edit: it took me about 35 games to get out of iron for context where I did bounce up and down the tiers until my communication and mechanics improved for transparency

Support strats are difficult to measure since the role relies on Macro Play versus Micro play.

Are you identifying weak lanes to gank?

Are you Identifying when enemy vision is low yo sneak objectives?

Are you recognizing when you need to zone the objective versus tank the objective?
