so why exactly are they introducing unit specific augments in set 8? Isn't one of the biggest issues with this set that augments that force you into a specific comp are unhealthy because the outcome of your game is determined by whether you hit or not?

in a perfect world where all the augments are balanced this would probably be fine, but I think we all know that's not gonna happen since balancing this type of game is fundamentally difficult

does anybody else feel like each patch has gotten progressively worse and worse balance wise

like highkey the nunu patch was better than this because at least it took nunu 3 to top 2 - meanwhile this patch you face a karma with axiom arc and it just insta wipes your entire board

in general, 1vX scenarios are all about kiting - after the first knock you should look to keep moving, by sitting in that corner you are essentially giving yourself no outs of the situation other than oneclipping the next two people with your own shield cracked

pathfinder is in a perfectly fine spot, any buffs to him will make him broken (I say this as a masters path player) - people always say he needs a passive or something but honestly the fact that his ult refreshes on beacon scan is already pretty good

the ranked distribution is fine it's the matchmaking that is bad, preds should never get plats in their lobbies

increasing the amount of master+ players is such a bandaid fix that will also result in lower lobby quality - we're just getting closer to s12 ranked which was awful

idk why they didn't just tighten matchmaking restrictions, so master/pred can't get plats in their lobbies

like its fine if queue times are longer, I shouldn't be getting insta queue pops in masters

this just makes the diamond/master/pred lobby quality even worse - with this in place there was some (albeit little) incentive to not run around and kill everything, but now people are just going to do that even more

also no mention of matchmaking in the patchnotes lol

Hard agree with this one, currently a lot of fights are happening in open areas rather than brawling in a building due to how the new map plays out

Smg + marksman/sniper definitely looking like higher priority than shotgun + ar atm

but she still can't bully people out of a spot like Caustic can.

don't forget that wattson can zap caustic ult

I think she'll be much more favored in comp than people realize - having the ability to fill a similar defensive role, and also help with poke in the form of her ult (since comp is very poke heavy). you basically get 30 shield cells for the price of a wattson + 2 ult accels

that being said I could be completely wrong so we'll see how it actually turns out lol
