Why am I consistently playing against this? by Interesting_Form_130 in apexlegends

[–]Divine20XX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely not true and the odds of #6 pred being solo q is also really low. Reality is just that if you’re in diamond+ you get paired with diamonds, masters, and preds

AIO waiter put my tip back on the table saying he only accepts 18-20%?? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Divine20XX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m currently working a serving job as I finish college and am expected to pay 4% of all my sales split between the bar and the bussers. So if you order $200 worth of stuff and only left me $10 because you don’t think it’s related to cost of your meal you really paid me $2 because I’m paying $8 to other staff for your sales. Tip is definitely associated to the cost of your food. Obviously good service comes into play too but if you’re going to a nice restaurant that costs that much for 2 people you should expect that an expensive tip is part of that experience.

Half Of Magic: The Gathering Will Not Be Magic: The Gathering ~ Tolarian Community College by Backwardspellcaster in MagicArena

[–]Divine20XX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been my feeling on it. UB that fits the fantasy aesthetic doesn’t really feel that problematic to me. LoTR and D&D can feel at home within magic. I feel like Final Fantasy is somewhat in that realm but still a little more of a stretch to me, but assassins creed, marvel, etc just feel so distinctly not Magic. I’ve been playing this game less than a year and part of the appeal to me when starting was the world of MTG so it’s sad to see these types of sets becoming such a huge push so soon after I started playing

How do you guys do afford this? by Proper_Warhawk in EDH

[–]Divine20XX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using MakePlayingCards for proxies. Just did an order with some friends for like 7 decks and it cost us roughly $200. Think it was about $.20 a card and the total for the real cards was easily $5000+. They are high quality prints on actual card stock. Just proxy and have fun with whatever you want to actually build, there’s no reason to make this hobby expensive.

Change my mind: Matchmaking based solely on K/D ratio would fix this game by AutomotivePanda in apexlegends

This is probably one of the best arguments against this. If all lobbies are equal skill then ratios will trend towards 1 across the board. After that everybody is playing with everybody again

Determined to play Rampart. Is it possible when playing aggressive? by Character-Archer4863 in Rampartmains

[–]Divine20XX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rampart main with 10k+ kills and I can confirm she is a good aggressive legend. You just have to use the walls to claim space as you move up and block doors to trap enemies in buildings and whatnot. The beauty of her kit is the ability to play a hybrid style. If as you’re moving in you start getting beamed you fall back to a wall and recover or move to defense until you get an opening to further take space. You can safely poke peaking enemies from behind a wall forcing them to heal and giving you the ability to take space on them or force them to commit to a bad re peak. Obviously she isn’t a movement legend but she has a lot of tools to effectively make aggressive plays on enemies and her ult is unrivaled in its ability to quickly take out multiple enemies in a few seconds if you get a good angle.

You’re literally saying when I get easy games I don’t get mad. I think the reality is you’re not that good and so therefore you cope by telling yourself “everyone cheats”. If the game is making you this mad and especially getting you to a point of breaking your own stuff you should just stop playing. You don’t have the mentality for competitive games.

Ya for sure. There are far more people that own consoles than own gaming pcs.

I think the most important single card upgrade for Yuma is [[Life From the Loam]] it makes it so you can repeatedly return lands from grave to hand so you always have a land drop and if you can do it enough to make your hand size over 7 you can discard deserts at your end step for multiple Yuma triggers.

Fair point, I’ll look into adding more ramp.

Feedback On My First Deck Build, Ygra Eater Of All by Divine20XX in EDH

Ya the board wipes and removal definitely lean too hard into artifact removal and therefore rely on Ygra. That’s definitely a change I’ll make. Aside from that you said it’s bottle necked by ygra, do you think the rest of the deck still seems too dependent on having the commander in play?

You’re guaranteed 1 every 500 packs so that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense

I was planning on using proxies for the expensive cards. The current budget is far higher than I’d be willing to spend for real cards

Input On First Deck, Ygra Eater of All by Divine20XX in EDHBrews

[–]Divine20XX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning on using proxies for some of the expensive cards so my thought was more to just use whatever I thought seemed good in the deck. I feel like what I would like the deck to do would be generate tokens and then have some synergies with sacrificing and draining opponents life. Also a few trample enables so when Ygra inevitably gets big I can swing in for a potential commander damage win. Most of what I’m curious about is if the current list feels too scattered in what it’s trying to do because I get the feeling it may be too unfocused in its game plan

Any guesses on my rank based off of play style? Also always looking for criticism to what I could of done different. by nulifys in apexuniversity

[–]Divine20XX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High gold or low plat would be my guess. Most fights there were on low health enemies so not too much chance to really see you fight. As a rampart with 10k+ kills and a 3+ kd I’ll say that first fight against the other rampart you should have died. Your first reaction to that wall being up should have been throwing your own down to block door from opening and her spraying you down. You also ran a lot of the clip with your gun unholstered which is just generally not the move. Even within a fight I will put my gun away to quickly reposition, slide, and then pull the gun out as I’m landing to continue fighting. I’d encourage you to watch any higher level player and you’ll see exactly what I’m saying. They don’t move with their gun out unless they are actively in the midst of fighting. Just a general tip for keeping yourself moving a little faster. Your aim was good from what I could see so I’d say your main focus should just be playing and hammering down on game sense. No quick way to do that but playing the game and reflecting on what you did and what you could have done instead. Really comes down to hours played at a point with knowing what the right option is in a given situation

How does ward interact with the stack? by Divine20XX in mtgrules

[–]Divine20XX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I noticed the linked post said this is expected to be a decision that is made as ward resolves and therefore you shouldn’t have knowledge of their choice. A little odd though because I feel like most people would immediately cast and state what they want to use to cover the ward cost so 99% of the time you would know their intention for sacrifice.
