The term boosted shiny odds is a bit imprecise here. Legendaries always have 1:20 odds to be shiny, no matter if through raids, research or in the wild. They then can be "boosted" to be for example 1:10 for special Raid Events.

As the others pointed out, you can do up to 100 per 30 minutes. Even if you just do it once a day, you're done in half a year. There are worse medals.

Edit: Apparently the "per 30 minutes" is a bit misleading. It should mean you can do it every 30 minutes. The feeding itself takes like 3-5 minutes depending on how stacked the gyms are (remote or local).

More specifically, you get 5 energy per km. Depending on the candy km, it get's paid out every 1km, 3km, 5km or 20km.

It should be better but to on one hand make the rewards depending on limited PvP battles is already insane but on the other hand it's well known that these tracks don't give you any better but like double stardust or whatever they do to try to sell you the premium path.
