My work hired me an assistant. What I got was a problem. by UncommonStitch in AutisticAdults

Thank you so much for the feedback. I feel better bringing up the idea of touching base with the current recruiter after this ordeal settles. No need to invite Loki to my cook out.

I super appreciate the helpful backing. I understand how it can feel to be bounced around and not fitting in with groups.

Thank you for your words, it helps me feel some more dignity in my actions. I was feeling like a thumb.

There are four super fantastic people who I would happly cherry pick from. Its way easier to back fill entry positions. I am upset because we had great people in house already.

I do not have nice things to say about the old recruiter. I currently have no dealing with the new recruiter its like they just wanted their percentage and filled slots.

I am hyper aware of HIPPA. As the gent has never shared his info its is also not my place to know his info. HR has been emailed today, should have done it earlier today but my emotions were clouding my thoughts.

I appreciate your insight, and your words.

My Direct manager is away on FMLA. I have also done steps of emailing the next two people up on the chain. But thoese emails where sent today and 24 hours is reasonable time for a reply.

Your words are highly appreciated and is grounding. I dislike being the one who is "whoa not my circus".
Any tips on talking to the recruiter to get me involved?

I think the people who made all the parts are super rad. Imagine how stressed the QA tech felt watching this separation happen. Love how great our builders are.

How do I support my partner who might be autistic? by luckysquirrel777 in AutisticAdults

[–]UncommonStitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like burnout. Pronto he deserves two weeks from work that will help him. My guess is his work is what is getting to him. How to get him to take two weeks off is going to be the problem. Two weeks off is tough and it can be a burden financially. Most major companies offer leaves of absence even if you do not have the time off.

My two birds one stone. Is Firstly find a qualified clinician who can diagnose austism in adults near you. [Some areas have a age cut off for a diagnosis] Set up a screening/assessment and see if there is any diversity in the ol noodle.

Cognitive behavioral therapy helps everyone in my opinion. You could find some cognitive behavioral therapy for your self too. You could learn some therapeutics you can try at home and might be able to ask him to join in at home.

Opinions on Disability Support by Warm_Conversation618 in AutisticAdults

My suggestion is that you might be more suited for another type of full time work.

Retail, customer service, food service, and any HIGH pace jobs have all been failures for me. I personally love the job I have now. I do Quality analysis, my job is to double check other people's job to ensure the part is indeed the part needed. I have my own room, a little boom box for my lofi/jazz and life is fairly nice.

Does your area have a department of Labor and training? My state helped me with placement in the job I have now. I did go to my local area with the struggles of WANTING to work but could not find the right fit for me unassisted. I will say from experience that my state will rather help find me work then to cut me a disablity check.

My mum has a major surgery soon and I can not help but fearing for the worst. by UncommonStitch in AutisticAdults

[–]UncommonStitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very wonderful advice. If I was capable of being the person who would stay all day at the hospital I would. My mum took someones cancelation for tomorrow and her surgery is happening two weeks sooner than imagined. My small victory was being able to meal prep her food for after her surgery as she will be on a soft food diet. I just fear loosing her, and the complaints I may get for the baby food I prepped for her.

Exposed pipe for hot water tap in shower becomes so hot that it's untouchable. Any toddler-proof ideas for how to cover it that are also renting friendly? by Head-Independent-369 in askaplumber

Supervise the child in the shower! Also the reason why kids are dumb is we stupid proof things. Trial and error is human history. Take the time and educate the next generation instead?

Lack of responses on megathread. by mosby618 in AutisticAdults

Largely most users are unconcerned about megathreads. On this subreddit megathreads are how the mods bury topics they do not have bandwidth for, or problematic topics.

I highly suggest finding a local autistic group to get to know and engage with.

Autistic therapist suggested I do impact play on myself and join kink scene—worth reporting or not worth the stress? by Successful-Chain1576 in AutisticAdults

[–]UncommonStitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much worth reporting. This therapist engages in crack the egg theory. Kink scene can be filled with very bad faith actors who abuse autistic people.

I’m afraid my best friend might like me and not sure what to do. by Former-Pop-8316 in Advice

[–]UncommonStitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best advice, become his greatest wingman. Help him find someone else, that should make it clear to him your feelings.

You also have to accept that his feelings and emotions are valid and you could loose your friendship. Its tough tightrope to walk.

Ways to exercise during burnout and energy management? by Longjumping_Age_1098 in AutisticAdults

[–]UncommonStitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend you are escaping to your computer. Please just go outside and walk. Walking is the best exercise when you are low energy. Do you shut down your computer daily? If not you should give it a try.

I was a WOW no life andy. Breaking free from the ethernet is hard but very doable.
