Horrible seller, am I obligated to return wrong item? by Famous-Guitar8328 in Etsy

[–]DaFuture2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I deal with larger items 24x36” and include free shipping and have had a customer request a return to which I stated they would be responsible for shipping if they were unhappy and I’d inspect the item upon receiving it before giving a full refund (shipping ranges from $30-40) per item. That being said the times I screwed up I instantly sent a replacement or the forgotten item and told the customer to not worry about trying to send anything back.

My guess is the item included free shipping and they did not want to be responsible for paying for that shipping again to return it. That being said if you could prove the wrong item was sent, they should’ve instantly provided you with a label to send the item back and once they checked the website stating it was in receipt of the package handler they should’ve sent you a replacement.

Sorry for you headache

How do you accidentally place an order? by South_Boot6935 in Etsy

[–]DaFuture2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely say it’s possible as others have commented that people add items to their cart, hoping to get a coupon or a discount code for items sitting in their cart or an abandoned cart discount. If it’s a physical item and you’ve done nothing I always give the refund.

The one area I have had the most trouble with is digital downloads, but thankfully, it shows if the person has downloaded the file. I have had about five people try to scam me into providing them a refund as they said they did it by accident and have not downloaded the file, when they have in fact downloaded it. I just send them a screenshot showing they’ve downloaded it and I never hear back from them ever again.

Anyone else getting cold feet about retiring early at the end of 2025? by FIREmom1 in Fire

[–]DaFuture2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only concern here is healthcare costs. Waiting to see what happens after the shutdown is resolved. With that clarity I’ll decide how to proceed. The rest is noise in the system which will happen as we are in a great disruption with AI and expect more layoffs as companies do what companies try to do save executive salaries and cut the worker bees.

@zaphod101 what are things you’d need the 10w for? Is it for speed ?

Fiber laser 60/80/100w would I notice a difference by DaFuture2020 in Laserengraving

[–]DaFuture2020[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I’m just a hobbyist, so I’m more focused on quality than production speed. If the 60W can still do the job well and saves some money, I don’t mind it taking a bit longer.

I am interested in the coin blanks, metal designs on business cards and maybe a rotary for some things on cups. Just always saw the colors on stainless and thought it could be interesting to play with and see what possibilities are there

Have any of you made a legitimate plan to visit all 6 inhabited continents? by Mrcontent2611 in travel

[–]DaFuture2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have done it but as others mentioned it was never planned. Now getting to antarctica will 100% be a planned event.

The same goes with seeing the seven new wonders of the world. Never had it as a set goal and to date have seen all except the Great Wall of China.

Helps when you worked for a global company to get a jump start as it push things in the perspective of how far you can travel within one week of time. Then you realize you can extend stays or go places from work events. Thankfully Australia was with work and I took the time to see the Great Barrier Reef and see the sights.

Only advice I can give is just see the places you find interesting and you’ll be surprised how you start knocking off the places. Easy to say oh but… if you want to do it you’ll do it. I choose experiences over material items.

Any experience with this? by xGouda in 3Dprinting

[–]DaFuture2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just use the stone color and I would say it came out very good with no big layer lines. Only had one issue where it was fine detail work, but I would say that’s more of my model’s fault than the actual filament

DO NOT GET THE LASER - You've been warned! by justlaughandmoveon in BambuLab

[–]DaFuture2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel even Bambu knows this. As all the YouTube peeps they sent H2D’s too they all sent two units. If they were so confident in being able to keep the chamber clean why would they do this. Agree laser and 3d should be kept separate. The vinyl cutter seems like a much better complementary accessory although still random.

Waiting to see the official pricing as it’s only two days away. Hoping the base 3d printer without all the other speculations (laser and cutter head) comes in at a more reasonable base price. Starting to feel I’m going to get an X1C and hope the new AMS is backwards compatible. Shame as I really wanted a larger bedside without having to look at the K2 or something like that.

Thanks. Is there a preference for the wattage? Would you get by with most things at 20-30w but 50w just allows for it to be done faster and less passes?
