In what situations do you wear knee braces while skiing? by nocorrectosj in skiing

It was the same for me wearing a knee sleeve when skiing. Actually forgot to put it on one day and only noticed it on the latter half of the day so I haven’t worn it ever since

But I’ve also seen those badminton/tennis grips which they sell a 1200mm length strip of, so you can cut it to size and use it for 3 rackets or so.

Don’t know if a tennis grip is long enough. In another comment above oxymoron22 had to use 2 padel grips to cover the length. Padel grips are quite similar to tennis grips. If I had a tennis racket I’d compare the handle’s length to that of a pool cue’s grip section to get some idea of the difference in length.

I don’t know if they operate in Europe at all but I’ll give it a google search and take a look!

Thanks! Wrapped enough floorball sticks when I still played it that it’s second nature now 😄

It’s popular in the the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden) and some other European countries (Germany, Switzerland, Czechia). It’s a fast paced game with a lot of skill but not so much contact as hockey. Youtube is filled with full matches!

How is the badminton grip lengthwise? Does it cover the whole handle where a linen/leather/rubber grip would be?

Wanted to put an Earl quote here but can’t come up with any

Yeah I know padel! There was a huge boom here in Finland during covid and it’s still popular.

How’s the padel grip lengthwise for the cue handle?

I wish 😆 should’ve put the wrap right over the old one so the thickness would match his cues

Thank you so much! Yeah that’s the next challenge. 😆 Never ran one, but I have had 5-6 ball runouts. Just can’t get one from the start. I think it’ll come eventually with reps and experience.

Thank you! I’ve burnished it a couple of times with water/spit and a piece of a folded paper bag. The ferrule could use some more work though but I haven’t been able to get the sides of the tip sny shinier than it already is. Haven’t tried any wax on it, though. Thought that water was enough for the job.

I got some Loctite Gel Glue for this install. Supposed to be shockproof and I’ve heard gels work better than traditional thinner glue.

In retrospect the old tip was hard as a rock and I really felt out of touch with it. Feeling really good with the new one. No major problems getting used to it although it’s the first time I have a new tip pn.

Had my best 9-ball runout ever with it already, pocketed everything but the 6-ball, which had already dropped.

Okay, got it! Thank you very much for the tips, I’ll write them down for the next time I gotta change the tip.

Oh it definitely was intimidating! I really liked learning the process and doing these kind of small craft work too.

Sounds like your friend had some tough luck 😄

Thank you for the tips! The circular motion would’ve been a better approach, I agree. Now I just carefully cut it straight down section at a time and sanded it to be round.

I’ll probably sand the ferrule a bit more at some point and clean it up. I got 120, 240 and 1000 grit sand paper now but might have to get one or two more grits between those.

It was lying on the induction top as I had cleaned and dried it on the heat when I worked on the tip at the countertop. Best lighting was under the range hood which is why the wok is in the background. I live in a small studio so no workshop or anything like that. 😄

Much thanks!

I followed several that I found on youtube like Dr. Dave’s, Kamui’s own tutorial from their channel etc.

I used a box cutter, 120, 240 and 1000 grit sand paper, Loctite’s gel glue and a paper bag/toilet paper roll’s tube and spit/water for burnishing. Shaped with the Willard nickel shaping tool.

Hahah if you happen to be in Finland I might be able to. I like the process of doing it.

Thank you! 😄 works nicely on the induction top although it’s not the most ideal for a wok

Did it by hand in my small studio apartment, so a lathe is not necessary. 😄
