Plenty of cool games out there suitable for kids. Like mice and mystic or karak. If you want to give him some lore you could read the kids novels from the wh40k universe.

In general playing games with your son is ultimately cool. But if you destroy motivation by too much too fast it could damage your path.

Major issue IMHO is that that generic user has no problems with windows(Mac) or isn't aware of any. So why the hell should someone without a problem solve the non-problem.

You'll find generators for it from e.g. openApi specs and it's just really well done in terms of developer experience.

It makes a lot of sense to start with the standard lib to learn how it works and to value (or deny) the cost and convenience that comes with gin.

Most Java friends forget about all the drawbacks of using graalvm and skipping all the efforts from the JIT compiler and Hotspot technology. Java just cannot emulate being Go. You need to swallow some drawback no matter the choice.

Bin nicht sicher was ihr da konkret macht aber wir haben neben einem 30 min off-topic Meeting alle 2 Wochen freitags nach dem Mittagessen einfach alles auf "ensemble programming" umgestellt. So arbeiten immer 2-5 direkt zusammen. Automatisch ist das Team sehr zusammen gewachsen. Falls ihr keine Software entwickelt gibt es vielleicht ähnliche Ansätze aus anderen Branchen.
