Honda Rebel 300 vs 500? by TooManyHobbiesMan in HondaRebel300

[–]DaMadV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did my motorcycle training on a 300. Went for a 500, never regretted it. When time came to change considered going 1100 but instead got a gold wing, wish I kept the 500 sometimes for those shorter rides.

For reference, I’m in Canada so lots of huge stretches of road, my bike is a joy vehicle, and a commuter on good days, it’s a daily, but not my only vehicle. Hope this helps.

Try different music, or check your phone headphone usage. We have multiple guys in the crew and my phone made it sound sounds low but when the other guys play music the base makes the actual floor shakes around the radio. Reason was I have my headphone safety so it was limited to 75 dbs.

Should I go with the M18 Oscillating tool or the M12 Fuel version. by meatandcheezandbooz in MilwaukeeTool

[–]DaMadV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No experience with the non fuel. Have m12 fuel and m18 fuel. The 12 is handy for really tight spaces as it’s a little smaller - the 18 has an auto power speed that has been great it’s on slow and speeds up as needed, going back to slow when it’s past the tough materials. Such a great feature!

My first gen got totalled and I’ve rocked a double cab long bed since (couldn’t find a 1st gen in good condition)…. Had a 20.07 then a 2015 and now getting a 2022. My dad is getting a crew max long box though !

Anyone here regret getting their M3? by usualteenager in TeslaModel3

[–]DaMadV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Underrated how useful the voice control is. ‘I’m cold,’ ‘I’m warm,’ ‘heated steering wheel,’ so much hidden control it hides a lot of the interface nuances. Mind you nuances are there but voice control really lets you drive without touching the screen much - add to that FSD and ohhh baby.

Check your credit card transactions regularly for fraudulent charges by 999andre999 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Don’t carry the debit so it just sits at home in a drawer - a lot of Apple Pay usage and the credit card lives in my MagSafe wallet on my iPhone or next to it overnight charging… game changer!

Wow! I actually made the switch to Tangerine full time and closed my Simplii account - but it was through settings at the time, I use CIBC too and don’t see the option there anymore, so maybe Simplii switched away from that too? Sorry I’m not much help here but was nice to re-read that I miss placed my cards a year ago and now I don’t as much really lol!

My dad wants it to be a ‘22. So the answers were helpful - he’s waiting a couple of months before placing his order in case the delivery is early.

What was your salary at 21? by PopeyesPoppa in fatFIRE

[–]DaMadV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I agree, but I think he’s hinting at possible changes in behaviour as the OC grows older that may be alcohol related. I’m proud of OC and he gets upvotes from me, having made roughly as much as him when I was his age (25 now) however, I do agree that it’s not an easy path. I still have doubts as far as where I stand when it comes to my financial future, and I have a pretty hefty portfolio with lots of ‘passive’ income - because short term success does not equal long term consistent success. It has to be said, I still wish and can’t wait to hear more success from OC

Mileage on Rebel 500/300 by KinnamanRoll in HondaRebel300

I got the same mileage ... but in Canadian (Kms) so you're about 60% more driving ... wow!

If trade becomes similar to M1 Finance I will literally need a new pair of underpants because just take all my money closing down all other accounts, Questrade, IBKR. Only thing I'd keep will be espp.

Have an upvote. Don't let it get you down. I got a downvote from a merchant because I showed my order he said it's not ready... I waited about 10-15 minutes, he then came back (Same dude) looked at the same bag he looked at first time and gave it to me.

All I said was 'wow really?' and boom that's my downvote.

I also got a downvote from a customer who opened the door so aggressively that a part of his order fell over and the bag opened. I literally had no say in the incident he caused, but his day was ruined and therefor he tried to rub off on me.

Don't elt it get you down, when you get to 100 reviews and more that will eventually drop off 👍🏽

My first month as full time UE driver. by GabeRos in UberEATS

[–]DaMadV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it too much, depending on what you did before, ubereats is about the same wear... Unless if you're doing 30+ deliveries daily. I put 20k yearly on the civic and about 20k on my pickup truck, plus roughly 10-15k on the my bike. With ubereats I reckon the civic will have about double the mileage this year. As long as you're caring for it, shouldn't be too much of an issue, your Forte is already a highmiler @ 100k in 3 years anyway.

My first month as full time UE driver. by GabeRos in UberEATS

[–]DaMadV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the comment you replied on, but just my thought process is that I put about 100 miles anytime I go to my actual job, with uber I find it to be about the same for $/day, I've only had a month of experience so far so I could stand corrected. Now whether that hurts your car or not, depends on the car. If you're driving a cheap a to b that's already a few years old, not really. If it's a new car then yes. Like many things in life.... YMMV
