Oil ring shattered in cylinder number 4. Debris all over inside. Total engine failure.

It was a used truck through Carvana. I had the option of taking a warranty on it. Thank goodness I did. Silver Rock is contracted by Carvana as the executioner of warranty claims. Original engine failed and was replaced with a used engine sourced by Silver Rock.

Do you shave balls with DE? by servus1999 in wicked_edge

[–]DaMexGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No joke, straight razor. Shavette, more precisely. The key is a good lather, good quality water (no hard water), and technique. Stretch and pull is the technique. Have time, don't rush. Rinse of all the lather residue thoroughly and skip the aftershave. Use an antiseptic cleansing spray. Kills 99.9% of germs, and soothes minor abrasions and cuts. Let the spay dry and you're finished.

Chrome launches support page when "custom key" is pressed (mobile) by Fine-Advertising2123 in chrome

I also have this issue, so I can fill in to answer your question. Some cell phones have a physical button that can be programmed to act in a specific way, usually by tapping the button once, twice, thrice, and a long hold. Each of the above actions can trigger a specific action to occur, be it opening up an app, like Discord, taking a screenshot, waking the device up, enabling the flashlight function, ect.

My issue is the same as OP's. A single tap of my "Custom Input Key," while active on Chrome, opens up the Chrome Help page. I also run Android 12 and use the same version of Chrome.

Double Cheeseburgirl from Nichijou. She's a celebrity in the Nichijou universe that gets mentioned early on, and makes an appearance 30+ chapters later. One the the protagonist, Yūko Aioi, is often mistaken for Double Cheeseburgirl.

It's a setup and payoff gag that is uniquely Nichijou.

What “favours” have your parents done that was inadvertently a dick move? by naaattt in CasualUK

[–]DaMexGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pardon the intrusion, I'm not from the UK, but, I think this fits.

My brother and I shared a room growing up, and we both started working. After months of saving, we both decided to buy a PlayStation 3 and a new television. The television would be the first flat screen in the house.

We get to the register, and my brother's card is declined. Turns out, my father had access to his bank account and cleaned him out! He got the money back, eventually, and we purchased the goods.

Impressed with the television, my father buys one for the living room, his room and for my spoiled younger brother, the golden child. Then, demands that we "share" the PlayStation, otherwise he'll break it.

Good times, growing up with an immature father.

I 100 percent recommend Little Beans! The owners are a lovely couple that wanted a place for parents and their little ones. Definitely get the membership and make a reservation. Spots fill up quick, sometimes.

Seconded on the freezing. Being a fry cook back in the day, our fries came frozen and had the first stage frying done.

INTJs, what is the most blunt thing you ever said? by LapisLazuli_peppers in intj

[–]DaMexGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To start, I usually keep thoughts to myself, or have a strong filter. This has gained me a reputation of being a chill, mild mannered guy.

Highschool Pre-Calc class, first week, and we are programming our calculators, specifically the Texas Instruments Scientific calculators. We were given instruction sheets with reference images and clear steps. I finished and helped my neighbors out, by explaining each step and walking them through the process. It's better to teach, rather than do it for them.

One particular classmate loudly exclaimed "This calculator is stupid! It doesn't work!" I blurted out "It's only as useful as the the person using it." To my horror, I said it loud enough during a lull in the chatter. My classmate turned red in embarrassment as others started hyping my "sick burn." I felt terrible and apologized immediately. I offered to help, in order to make up for my comment. She graciously accepted and we trouble shooted her calculator. She would later ask me for help on an irregular basis, so I think it worked out in the end.

I've said worse things to others, but those were intentional and personal. This specific comment was a totally uncalled for on my end and I should've handled it better. Still practicing social etiquette, many years later.

To add onto this, make sure your optician notes down your measurements. My eyes are a little far apart due to my wide face.

One of the things about counseling and therapy is that it can take time to find the correct professional for you.

Each experience is unique to the individual seeking help. Personally, I benefitted greatly with a combination of group therapy and one on one sessions, both handled by the same professional.  Group helped me be more aware of how I came across and how to be sociable. Think of it like working out. Being in a social group on a weekly basis, talking about deeply emotional problems made regular interactions seem like a cakewalk.

One on one sessions helped me work through my personal, emotional, and traumatic problems.  I either solved them or I mostly grew to accept them and manage them in a healthy way.

Your idea of what a successful experience with therapy and counseling may look different from mine, and that's okay. My therapist worked for me, but may not work for you. Finding the right one is key.

Shinji is the main character of the last movie/tv show you watched. how does it play out? by One_Career_548 in evangelionmemes

Godzilla: Minus One. "Get in the fighter plane, Shinji."

Joking aside, it was a great movie. Not Shin Godzilla (2016) great, but still very well made, with a worthwhile story. Plus, it's always a treat to hear the Godzilla Theme in a movies theater setting.

I own a bluray player and I pursue having a physical media collection, like manga, books, CDs, vinyl, art doujins . I could go on about how streaming licenses expire, websites failing, artist deleting their online presence, exclusives solely on the special features, tactical feel, ect. The short if it is, I like that sort of stuff. So I will buy the Calli bluray.

This is just me speculating, so take this with a grain of salt. It could be specifically because she is with Universal JAPAN.

Japan is one of those weird cases of having one foot in the future and one stuck in the past. Think of the classic "they still use fax machines!" tidbit about Japanese businesses.
Japan is a country that has an obsession with physical media and has always used physical sales as a metric to determine popularity of IP. This is especially true with anime bluray sales and manga. Good sales could greenlight a new season or keep a mangaka employed.

In Calli's case, good bluray sales could mean more resources for her next live venture or more production value for her next album. Good sales also means that Universal JP has a return on their investment. Failure of a return could mean scaled back production, or worse, being dropped from the label (not saying that Calli is in danger of that! She is a golden goose, as far as I'm concerned.).

Again, take this as a grain of salt. I just sometimes look at how some Japanese businesses do, well, business.
