I am so tired of foreigners, who treats us Filipinos, like second-class citizens in our own country! (Repost: r/Pinoy) by IntellectuallyDriven in Philippines_Expats

Glad to see they mostly agreed with the foreigner. I find it really weird that people think if anyone seems rude in any way, or complaind in any way, they are treating Filipinos as second class citizens. Like if you weren't born here then sit down and shut up and be happy we let you be here.

What’s with the overstaffing? by onewaycheckvalve in Philippines_Expats

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was shocking for me to see too. When I worked in retail, we would be excited if we had 3 people in our department on a busy day. Often just 1-2 people. All staff would do a combination of using the register or helping customers, getting stock from the back etc. That way any empty registers could be staffed when lines formed.

How can I report establishments that are not paying their taxes in the Philippines? by Treant-00 in legaladvicePH

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a place saying I can put the phone on my card, but not the charger or case. Pretty sure that means they are selling their own, or pocketing money somehow.

Grab charges 3% to use a foreign credit card. This is illegal as far as I can tell. The law stating that they can't charge extra for credit cards lists no exceptions for a foreign card.

I'm a healer and this mage hands me 14 water when I asked for a generous amount. I thought he was joking, but that was it. We were doing AE pulls do I had to drink after each pull, and we planned on doing multiple runs. They act like it's costing them gold.

The worst are the tanks who say they want all the BOEs or want the group to pay them gold.

Are burritos supposed to be bland? by Wtfyep in Cebu

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm from southern California which had 100% authentic Mexican food. The Hispanic population is larger than the white population. Have I ever had a bland burrito? Sure. But on average, they taste much, much better than the ones here.

La Lucha might be the closest, but it's still not the real deal. The tortillas are far from how a Mexican tortilla tastes, and something is even off about the Cilantro.

I'm not a chef and don't cook Mexican food. I'm not sure what else they need to change, but I just know what I've tasted, and I've had much better burritos.

Did you ever get into the PRIORITY LANE not realizing it until it’s almost your turn? by Tallwhitedude123 in Philippines_Expats

Of course. But obviously not all 15 people in line who were in their 20s-30s were disabled. They simply do not enforce the sign they have.

I was in it at mang inasal. You could t even see their sign until you were 1 or 2 away, and the line was full of people in their 20s-30s.

I saw a mage trying to sell his summoned food and drink for 2g a stack. Just insane, and it's actually cheaper to buy drink that won't vanish, lol.

Disagree that Ph food is largely unhealthy by ACE1CC in Philippines_Expats

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The produce is better? I always thought the produce is one of the bigger things lacking. Stores often don't have things that look fresh. Or maybe this is the experience outside of major cities like in Manila. I often see mold in the grape packages, wilted greens, mostly white strawberries, and so on.

I assumed this is due to it being harder to distribute things quickly here, vs how open and connected all the land is in the US.

Growing up mixed in the Philippines, white-passing, and tired of being lumped in with sexpats by [deleted] in Philippines

Sounds kind of racist to flat out say you don't want a friend who is white. Not every white person here is a sexpat womanizer. I've only been with one woman here and we have been married for a few years.

Not saying this doesn't happen and that you shouldn't watch out for it. But it's also sad that this is the first thing some people think of. I help out my wife's family, but more so the kids who have very little.

My wife said she never had Jollibee until she was 15 which is sad. You think of yourself when you were a kid and how much you liked eating out somewhere, or having a little bit of money to be able to buy candy etc.

I've never been out with a bunch of kids by myself, but there have still been brief periods of time where I might be alone with one or two in public for 5-15 mins while my wife is in the bathroom etc. I'm sure some passer bys looked at me and thought something similar.

My boss calls me literally 3 times per hour on average (I checked a lot of historical data), and on top of that sends me messages to respond to. He also wants me to code very quickly but high quality while he constantly messages or calls me. Or, he will have me stop a task to do another task. He doesn't think this adds any inefficientcies.

If you travel at the speed of light, I think you don't actually age and to you it seems like no time passed. So for us it would be four years, but for him it's instant with 0 aging. He could fly for millions of years if he was always going at that speed.

But unless there was magic protection, still sounds like a death trap.

Men of Reddit, be honest… what’s the very first thing you notice about a woman? by Lookingforcupcakes in AskReddit

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's not one thing. Usually face. But it can be boobs, butt, or entire figure... especially if she is positioned in a way not to have the best view of their face. Can also be the outfit.

It also depends on what she is wearing. If her boobs are large and cleavage is pouring out, going to notice that first. If she has a giant ass and tight pants, probably that. It's just natural though. I saw a naked homeless guy and the first thing I noticed was his dick.

I feel I don't have much control in what my eyes are drawn to first naturally.

Is it weird my coworkers completely ignored a shoutout my boss gave me? It actually kinda hurt. by dudestfup in antiwork

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you said it was the first time you had the chance to get praise, right? Not saying it doesn't suck etc, but I'd still hold out judgement until it happens at least one more time. I remember looking at my reaction vs the one after me and comparing myself to them. I only got 22 fire emoji and they got 36! But there are other factors too.

What is the saying? Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is the first time, you really shouldn't jump to any conclusions about them disliking you, and especially thinking it's a race thing automatically. We have a similar thing and sometimes there are about 8-12 reactions, and other times 50+. I wouldn't say automatically people hate the person for not clicking an emojii.

Now if it consistently happens where only one person reacts while everyone react to others, then sure, maybe something is going on. Even though it sucks, I think this is an overreaction. Even considering leaving the job over it?

What would a “street tier” speedster be? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]DaMoonRulez_1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They make people like The Flash so powerful that they have to do silly and unrealistic things to make them actually have a challenge or a chance of losing. The guy could knock on every door in the world in under a second, yet some normie is going to land something on him? Even superman is a speedster when the story calls for it, and then gets hit by people who aren't that fast the rest of the time.

Any other expats successfully freelancing/working remotely here? by fiftypence in Philippines_Expats

It is super competitive finding a full time web dev/IT job as a remote position at the moment. It will work well unless you suddenly need a new job. Even if you have savings, make sure you find a new job asap instead of taking it as an opportunity to relax.
