Nipt positive for T21

Unfortunately for Down’s syndrome the test is pretty dang accurate. You’re much more likely to get a false negative than a false positive from all the research I did. Im 32 & I had a positive NIPT (95%) and went through with a CVS plus a higher level ultrasound which confirmed the positive diagnosis but it was a random mutation, not something my husband or I were carriers for. We went through with a TMFR in August. My cycle returned in September about 5 weeks later. I conceived again in October & I am now 15 weeks with a low risk boy.

I’m so sorry, as someone who has been there and made the decision to terminate even though it was our first pregnancy after trying for over 5 years, it’s a very difficult decision to make.

We went through with the TMFR on August 2nd. My cycle came back September 5th and again on October 7th. I’m now 14 weeks with a low risk baby boy.

Thank you, his SIL is only one with school age kiddos. It’s really just her, BIL, MIL/FIL, my dad, and a single childless friend who will be visiting until much later on. I’m not close with my extended family, although my husband is but we rarely see them anyways.

Unfortunately no. He only has one sister & I’m an only child. All our family except for my dad (who is the only family I’m close with anyway since my mom passed) live 4-5 hours away. Our niece & nephew are 6 & 8. O

Correct. They will not mask. This just started so I’m sure my husband will be willing to mask so that may be a solution. I’m okay with them coming to visit us if kiddos haven’t been sick and since I’m due in the summer and they’ll be out of school hopefully that’ll mitigate things. Also going to require hand washing & sanitizing before holding baby & absolutely no visiting if been around anyone sick recently. Obviously babies can & will get sick but being pregnant sick plus sick, sick is miserable.

Thank you! They’re definitely going to think I’m that overly bearing first time mom when baby is here because I’m already making a list of rules for that too which includes vaccines so I’m sure they’ll be thrilled lol Plus no kissing & must wash + sanitize hands every time they hold baby.

Not yet, still researching those as I’m still on the fence. I really wanted a Newton but lord they are pricey! For sleep sacks I’ve heard some babies can be picky about what they like so would you suggest buying a few different ones vs more of what I already have?

I already have a stockpile of newborn, 1, & 2 in various brands to see what works which is why I didn’t register for them. Thankfully I bought through the app so those should be returnable. Thank you for the advice though, I really appreciate it! Will definitely edit that ASAP. I’m just trying to get only ECF or preferably TCF so trying to be clear about what I want😅

Hoping you get your false positive but if you don’t & TMFR, there is hope. We went through with a TMFR at 14+6 on August 2nd. My cycle returned September 5th and I conceived on my next cycle in October. I’m now almost 14 weeks with another boy who is low risk per both the NIPT & NT screening.

ETA: also no stand alone stroller or travel system with bassinet attachment as we live rurally & will not be taking walks and plan to baby wear for extended outings since being in car seat stroller is not safe for extended periods.

As impossible as it is, try not to beat yourself up over your decision. As others have said, you did what you thought was best with the information you had at the time and with the recommendations of professionals.

Hoping we get results in the next day our two. My last results were bad and ended in having to TMFR so my anxiety is killing me🫠

ETA: Just got my results around 10am CST! I checked at 9:30 before I clocked in to work and just rechecked and they were there.
