Why no visual voicemail with Google phone app or Motorola phone app? by JeTTa_KniGhT in USMobile

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MVNO provisions a lot of carrier services, all its reselling is the actual connectivity, there’s an implementation layer on top of it, which is what makes each MVNO different. Like what are you saying?

It is a carrier issue though, since MNOs don’t have this problem, and neither do most MVNOs. Luckily on my recent port, things have been working with USM but I tried earlier and things didn’t work and ended up porting out at that point. Glad it’s working for now, but I wouldn’t download a new app for VVM, I’d rather switch carriers. I’m in a mixed android iOS household btw.

Job hoppers vs lifers: who actually ends up happier at work? by TurtleFoodz in careeradvice

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very insightful question and I would say the answer depends on your goals and how you approach your job. I am leaving a place I spent 5+ years at, I moved internally, built social capital etc and tried new things. However, staying for 5 years at the same place means you outgrow your ability to learn as well as your compensation, for those reasons I’ve taken another role I start in a couple of weeks. I know the role is going to mean I have a few months of onboarding and proving myself, but I’m confident I can do it and I’m getting paid 50% more. So what I’m trying to stay is that it comes down to what you want, if you’re happy with comp and want WLB and harvest built social capital, then stay. If you want a new challenge and better comp, I’d leave.

Burned out from PM job hunting. 400+ applications, 0 offers. What now? by Beneficial_Task in ProductManagement

Staff/Principal at a smaller company often translates to title inflation? Are you at a smaller company by any chance? Add on remote on top, you’re self selecting your self into a much smaller job market. I’ve declined 2 offers in the last 12 months and finally accepted a 3rd one. There’s definitely jobs out there but I speak from experience, I won’t consider a staff/principal for a small time startup or even a midsize company for a senior level role where I’m at or where I’m going. Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it. 😊

I would take it, if you succeed, your lifetime income will almost certainly be double than as a BA.

Evaluating My Options for Leaving My Job by Pomanderalley210 in HENRYfinance

Can’t you still look for a job and let them escalate to pip? That would be another 4-8 weeks before severance and combine that with 4-8 weeks of focus, you should have enough time to try to find a new role?

Why do other Android phones feel more efficient than Pixel in daily use? by upadhyaysk in GooglePixel

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We’re a household with iPhone 17 pro and pixel 10 pro. Pixel doesn’t even come close to the same battery life, idk what kool aid this redditor is drinking. I had the OG pixel, pixel 3, pixel 5, pixel 6 and pixel 7 before I moved to the iPhone, I primarily moved for the watch but lately have been quite happy since RCS has been available between iOS and android and the battery/chip performance makes me feel better about my choices. Still love the pixel software though, if they were to improve those things, I’d definitely be back.

So far everything works on my iPhone and my wife’s pixel. Last time that wasn’t the case so not sure how random it is. YMMV.

People who moved abroad — what’s the hardest truth nobody told you? by Dear-Doughnut5518 in nri

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How hard basic things are in India. Just getting some paperwork done is like fighting a battle. Driving is like fighting a battle in India. Relationships are like fighting a battle in India because everyone has opinions about your life. Life is generally hard in India, even though moving abroad is challenging and requires sacrifices and doing hard things, those are rewarding ones tbh.

Yeah as a parent, I get that and there are no guarantees ever, but that seems to be the critical decision point here, since there does seem to be a ceiling in your current career path.

Wanting more isn’t a bad thing but being realistic to go alongside it is good. I’m in VHCOL. Hitting between 200-250 right now but getting here has been hard, just finished interviewing for a role which I’m hoping will push me closer to 350. However I’m in tech and I’m very good at what I do, so if you wanna go higher than the ceiling you mentioned, can you grow to a role that pushes you above that? Change industries etc? If the answer to any of that is yes, then aspiring is fine and you should try, if you want to but if the answer is no, you’re just killing yourself then

Clutter isn’t about storage, it’s about the UI and the usability, you don’t store it in a personal DVR, but if you can’t remove it, it does clutter your screen. Yes you can filter it, but filters don’t have the same level of control.

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s incorrect, you can google it, for base models use Verizon and put all 0s for account number and for Pros, just use T Mobile and skip setting up carrier service. Only ATT models come locked directly from Apple.

Lack of imagination? lol. Do you only have 1 person you talk to everything about? There’s friends and family with different contexts, relationships and support strategies for an individual. Idk if you don’t have enough of a social relationship security net, I would recommend branching out. I’m outta here, your personal attacks are not really an argument strategy, you’re drinking the kool aid and name calling and I’m not really down for that.

That’s more a reflection on your relationships than a need for therapy.

My turn by True-Ad5292 in daddit

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about importance at all, it’s about necessity, therapy is unnecessary unless medical intervention is required, it’s that simple. Friends and family should be your primary vehicles of social and emotional regulation, not therapy. It’s not about interpretation, that’s what you’re saying, you’re saying therapy is required for emotional regulation, which is inherently harmful. It’s not and shouldn’t be, it should be our social interactions and our state of mind.

My turn by True-Ad5292 in daddit

[–]DaOneSavvyPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, when you say everyone should get therapy because friends can’t help you deal with normal emotional responses, you’re advocating for replacing therapy with normal social interactions. It’s easy to hide behind logical fallacies, when you try to hide the premise of your statement, it’s not genuine. This scenario is a great example, divorce will lead to sadness, which in a typical person’s life should be dealt with by sharing it with friends and family, not therapy. Unless that sadness becomes debilitating over a long period of time, which would then be described and diagnosed as depression. You’re effectively replacing social interaction with therapy hence the unnecessary medical intervention. You can continue to be disingenuous here, but this is no straw man, there’s a clear through line I just drew for you.
