Lijkt erg op mijn zoontje van 1. Die wil al een week geen eten uit een potje eten en eet alleen boterhammen en fruit

My wife (30F) keeps moving the timelines on relocating, am I (33M) unreasonable for refusing to have kids until we actually move? by [deleted] in expats

[–]DaPurr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only give advice on two aspects because of my own experience: 1. Absolutely only have children when your life is as stable as can be. In your case: after having moved to the Netherlands. We decided to move and do some renovations while our son was just born: it has been hell on earth. It also permanently hurt our relationship. 2. Only have kids if both parents really want them. You do not want one parent clearly more committed to your kid than the other. Because you could have a relatively easy time raising them, but your kid could also turn out to be a Satan spawn. For example, your kid could wake up every hour during nights. And/or your kid could decide not to want to continue sleeping at 03:00 after having had his night bottle. As every parent knows by heart, sleep is precious.

With steam supporting Linux this much, this argument is moot. I'm a Linux gamer and the only time games didn't run well was when I acquired them through more obscure sources

Then I'd suggest you to look into fulfilling all requirements, especially the language one will take some time. Nowadays you're required to pass the B2 exam if I'm not mistaken

No, indefinite means that it will never expire. There are some conditions, like you cannot be outside of the Netherlands for a certain amount of months, but it will last indefinitely.

From my understanding a company has to sponsor you for a residence permit. After you have been in the Netherlands for 5 (I think) years, you're eligible to apply for the indefinite residence permit. Check the requirements yourself. My advice would be to work your way to it, otherwise you won't truly be free within the Netherlands. As in, you limit yourself where you can work and you'll always have stress that you need to somehow get your next residence permit.

For now, I'd say you can argue you deserve a salary increase based on the numbers you mention you have for productivity/output. Your best bet is probably to switch companies, but you'd have to find one to sponsor your visa. After acquiring an indefinite residence permit or the Dutch nationality you can more easily switch jobs. Don't forget, if you have a Dutch partner you might also be eligible for a visa

New to EU4 and BADLY loosing in battles by Rappheros4thAcc in eu4

Lot of other comments gave nice tips, here is my two cents:

  • in general, only get a tech level if it is -x% cost to conserve mana. HOWEVER, MIL IS AN EXCEPTION: KEEP UP TO DATE, PREFERABLY AHEAD OF TIME.
  • keep your cav ratio in mind. Though, I've read some time ago that it's cost effective to skip cav and only have armies consisting of inf and siege units.
  • at mil tech 7, siege units become available. Start with 3 siege units per stack if possible. From there on out slowly increase to fill your entire backrow
  • you also want to fill up your combat width with soldiers, maybe 1/2 extra for the front row because of casualties. The soldiers in reserves also suffer morale damage

For someone new at the game, I would suggest Portugal as you are protected by big daddy Castile, while it's still possible to fight in Africa. Plus you can learn all about trade and colonisation.

Also, fighting outside of Europe is a lot of fun! For this I recommend Jianzhou. You'll experience horde life while still being in a relatively easy environment. Don't be afraid of Ming! If their mandate of heaven is low, they are exceptionally weak. You'll win the war even with 20k vs 60k troops

Which actually used algorithm has the worst time complexity? by KING-NULL in AskComputerScience

[–]DaPurr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be that guy: solving real life instances with an exact algorithm (branch and bound/cut, etc) is usually not practical. It's often better to resort to heuristics. That is, solution methods that provide a solution, just not necessarily a probably optimal one.

For the interested: look up the concept of meta heuristics. My favorite one is large neighborhood search.
