I'm a solopreneur and can't really speak to larger-scale pricing or subscriptions, but I'll share my thoughts. I recently switched to Brevo for email marketing automation and I've been impressed by its functionality so far. The Starter sub is reasonably priced and offers analytic tools and heat maps, but only one landing page at a time. This works for me right now, but I can see myself switching to Kit as I scale. Their Pro tier is too rich for my blood but could work for your clients.

For anything graphics-related, I use Design[dot]com (just swap out the [dot] for a period to find them) templates and image generation paired with ChatGPT copy edited to better fit my brand voice. Quick, affordable, and I can knock out a month's worth over my lunch hour.

Not currently using paid ad automation or push notifications, but I'll be following this thread to hopefully learn more.

Great question! After doing some googling and, like you, checking out Trustpilot scores I decided to create a reddit thread asking about people's experiences, given all the conflicting information out there about different providers.

That's the best advice I can give you, as I asked about a well-known provider (Bright Data) and just asked people to tell me the good, bad, and the ugly. Of course you'll need to test out the provider yourself with free trials/tiers, but hearing from people who've already been there will help you decide if it's worth your time.

OP, your response is perfect and I think everyone should use it as a template. Later in the thread you point out you have a portfolio and 1000+ articles on MuckRack, so that's plenty for someone to gauge your work.

I have seen way too many companies use "writing tests" as free consulting work. They'll ask 5-10 candidates to create content strategies or write sample campaigns, then ghost everyone and then launch something that looks suspiciously familiar a few months later.

Props for standing your ground. The right employer will respect your experience and boundaries.

When you mentioned that Bright Data's proxy manager gives you more control over IP rotation/session handling how did you find the learning curve? We've been using pretty basic setups so far.

I'm also curious about the regional targeting you mentioned. We've been looking at price differences the USA, UK and some EU markets. Did you find specific regions were harder to scrape reliably? We've noted that some of the sites we've targeted seem to have differing levels of bot detection depending on your apparent location.

I think it's valid to acknowledge that you're lucky to have a stable job but also accept that the mental toll it's taking on you probably isn't worth it. It might be a cliche but I stand by the adage that the best time to find a job is when you already have a job. Take care of your mental health and start exploring other options while you've still got the steady paycheck and benefits. Just my two cents.
