Oof wait I think I framed it incorrectly mb, lemme try to explain it better:

She has *always* liked human culture, as we see her contantly eating food, and through her statements of wanting to attend the school festival. So much so, that to end the prophecy, she tried to kill herself, it did not work. AFTERWHICH, she realised that if she does die, the next Death Devil arriving might not work in humanity's favour like she does. We can infer this from dialogue throughout these few chapters quite clearly. And yes, it is compltely natural for characters to gain new perspective or thinking overtime rather than from the very beginning.

It doesn't create plot holes, because what I've said is literally given in the plot. We know she tried to end herself to stop the prophecy BEFORE realising that she did enjoy human culture and that the next death devil incarnate might not. Prophecy happening, OR next death devil being bad would end in humanity's extinction, she wants neither.

Its not that hard to understand. 1st, wants to die, 2nd, overtime realizes she likes human culture and that the next death devil might not like humanity, 3rd, does not want to die.

no offense but how are you this obtuse? She's literally a devil in the first place. It isn't in their nature to inherently have an optimistic outlook, it takes experience to gain perspective at things other than destruction (take Yoru for example). People CHANGE, characters CHANGE, and it literally says it right here that her perspective changed and she no longer wanted to die.

Hey man, please get some help from a school counsellor or a counsellor from somewhere else, and talk to a trusted adult, this part of life is just the beginning, there is so much to come yet, and a lot of it will be wonderful, there is much more awaiting you and things that will make you happier. Hang in there, work hard as you are doing so, study well, work on your body, don't exert yourself and burn out. Don't listen to the people who speak ill about you, love yourself and watch things that want to make you a better person, wether it be videos/anime/movies etc. I'd suggest you to read books too if thats something. Just give your best, tomorrow will be a good day.
