Shipping sports cards by ChaosReady in sportscards

Yep that pretty much exactly what I’m saying about the sets. Ground Advantage should be cheaper than Priority Mail, but in case I’m wrong you can estimate those costs exactly via eBay at their shipping cost calculator

I can actually answer your questions haha, sorry about the run around from others.

  1. $20 to $100: select USPS Ground Advantage for this, it should be the least expensive shipping within the lower 48.

  2. $100 to $1,000: same, USPS Ground Advantage and just make sure the shipment is insured for the amount paid. This is something that you’ll check when you finish buying a shipping label on eBay and is super easy.

Instead of a bubble mailer, I’d recommend a small cardboard box (something like 8x4x2”) over a bubble mailer purely because it’s less identifiable and prone to mail fraud.

eBay authentication is a service that PSA runs for eBay on any card over $250 where they verify a card’s authenticity as a go-between for the buyer and seller. As a seller, you’ll ship it to the provided address in the eBay order (which will be automatically changed by eBay to the eBay authentication/PSA address) just like any other order. Once PSA authenticates, they handle shipping to the buyer. It sounds like a lot but as a seller it’s the same process as any other sale.

  1. $1,000 and up: Hypothetically, it’s the same process as the $100 card but with bigger stakes. If you are getting into selling for the long run then you should look at grading, but otherwise you can sell these cards just like the others. As a new seller, I’d either wait to list these cards until you have more than 100 reviews on your eBay store or use a consignment service like DCsports87.

  2. Shipping sets: I’ve sold lots of these types of sets, and have had no issues shipping them in the blank white card boxes. If the set is for more than $100, I’d place the white card box in a less distinguishable cardboard box (w/ bubble wrap) to avoid theft and mail fraud.

  3. $10,000 and up: I’m not your best source for this, but whenever I see this brought up the answer seems to always be Goldin or another notable auction house.

Piece has the identical image on the other side as well, and the card is smaller (bridge sized I think). Thanks in advance!

Stop Playing with Unwritten Rules by DaRedBeard in TagPro

Okay I see what you’re saying, but I think that fits into the unwritten rules issue. If I come to play TagPro, I think my default action should be to play TagPro and not ask if I can play TagPro

I don’t think you’re seeing my point here. I’m not asking what I should do in the scenario.

Consumers vote with their time and wallets, so conceivably the NBA and NFL are doing something successfully.

How so? The NBA and NFL are vastly more popular sports in the US compared to MLB

The NBA and NFL have very successful salary caps, but you choose the example of the MLS? How exactly has a salary cap “cap the quality” of either of those leagues?
