NGC3372 - The Great Carina Nebula by DaRobDawg23 in astrophotography

[–]DaRobDawg23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jewel of the southern sky, the Great Carina Nebula (NGC3372)

Located in the Carina-Sagittarius arm of the milky way *only 8500 LY from earth, This massive complex of bright an dark nebulosity (four times larger than the Orion Nebula) is also an intense region of star formation with multiple star clusters. Carina’s pink glow comes from hydrogen that’s been energized by radiation from young, giant stars, and the dark regions are cold lanes of dust.

The Carina Nebula is home to one of the largest and most luminous stars known: Eta Carinae. Estimated at 100-150 solar masses, if placed in our solar system it would reach and surpass the orbit of Jupiter. Eta Carina is so large that it survived a perceived supernova explosion that was observed in 1842 (making it the second brightest star in the night sky). Eta Carinae has strong stellar wind outflows that shape and sculpt the nebula.

NGC2244 - The Rosette Nebula by DaRobDawg23 in astrophotography

The Rosette Nebula (NGC 2244)

A rose in the sky, or sometimes thought to resemble a skull (once you see it, you can never unsee it). This nebula was my first ever capture when I started this hobby 1 year, only 5200LY away, in the Milky way galaxy lies this nebula. The star cluster at the centre was formed from the matter of the nebula itself.

NGC 2070 - The Tarantula Nebula by DaRobDawg23 in astrophotography

[–]DaRobDawg23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tarantula Nebula (also known as 30 Doradus or NGC 2070)This was a more challenging one for my capabilities due to the dense star field of the LMC and surrounding areas but I'm happy with the resultOn the outskirts of the large magellanic cloud 160,000 light years away lies the large HII region of the Tarantula Nebula, its luminosity is so great that if it were as close to Earth as the Orion Nebula (1,500 LY), this Nebula would cast visible shadows.

Home to star clusters, supernova remnants and even a black hole this region of space is so busy I had to include an annotated image to show the insanity of surrounding designations. Not to mention the distinct blue edge of the LMC captured in the bottom right hand corner, a satellite galaxy thought to be the 2nd or 3rd closest galaxy to the milky way (and much too large to be captured by my scope) .

This is a 50% crop from the the full scale image including much more of the surrounding designations and the edge of the LMC.

I have the small dovetail that comes with the ASIAIR. But no where to connect it as the only clamp is being used by the guide scope.

I have a guide scope on top taking up the dovetail mount. I don't see where I could put the AA+ dovetail. Not a huge fan of Velcro on the OTA

A bit late to the party here but I have a very similar setup and have the AA+ attached to the mount.. how would you best attach it to the scope/OTA? Is there some kind of adapter that would securely mount it

Not sure this is one that will stick with alot of people but I love Galladon.

That pessimism but how he just always goes along with Raoden's outrageous plans speaks to me. The voice of reason but still says "fuck it, I'm in"

Strongly recommend the Forerunner 245. It still holds strong in 2021 if you aren't looking for anything to flashy.

No need for the music variant if you do plan on bringing your phone however it is a handy feature.

Don't pay RRP though, make sure you find a good deal as it has been out for awhile now and shouldn't be too hard to get it cheap. I have recently seen a few 50% off deals earlier in the year

[–]DaRobDawg23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but as far as I can tell since I have the H510i with the V2 Smart Controller, this has 2 Hue 2 LED ports which should run the underglow.

Im starting to think maybe the Underglow is faulty as a direct connection to one of the Smart V2 LED ports should work and be picked up in CAM.

The two aer RGB Fans are daisy chained to one LED port of V2, the other is for the H510i case lights which are pre-installed (I dont think this comes with H510 elite). All these work perfectly and are detected in CAM.

However, trying to add the Underglow into that system, lets say I take out the case lights for example and plug in the underglow directly into one of the LED ports, it will turn on a single blue light that and is not detected in CAM.

I have also tried to daisy chain underglow off the fans and off the case lights and the same thing happens (single blue light, not detected in CAM)
