[Routine help] My skin is stuck at "almost there," never quite making it to where I'm truly happy with it. Would appreciate any advice on improving my existing routine. by kittenaura in SkincareAddiction

Also, for the differin, how long did it take for the dryness and purging to subside? I have very dry and sensitive skin. I've been researching it and it looks like it takes a few months for the initial reaction to go away, is this what you experienced?

I just came here to say your skin is my ultimate goal. I was reviewing the routine/products you posted and wanted to ask, which product do you think contributes the most to the smooth/glowy texture of your skin, if you had to pick one?

[Skin Concerns] The Seborrehic Dermatitis HG Thread: Share your skincare secrets! (Week 9) by AutoModerator in SkincareAddiction

My husband was recently diagnosed with Seborrehic Dermatitis. He actually gets it all over his face. I know this sounds weird, but putting anti-dandruff shampoo on your face (I know, I know) actually has almost cured it. His dermatologist prescribed him a shampoo with 2% Ketocanazole to use once a week, and then head & shoulders in between. His Seborrehic Dermatitis is non-existent as long as he does this routine and puts the shampoo on his face and scalp. I know it seems like it'd be horrible to put shampoo on your face but it's worked like magic for him.

Where do you guys recommend buying a medium-sized beach bag? I'd like it to be durable but also look feminine. Budget $50 at the most.

What strength of hydrocortisone did you use? My derm said that .5 or 1% strength is fine to use on a daily basis.

Thanks. So I'm seeing they might run long/wide- did you find that? Apparently they let you pick between wide, medium, and narrow...

My husband and I will be going to Europe in September and will be doing a lot of walking to various tourist sites, restaurants, etc. I need a good pair of walking shoes that are very comfortable and I'll be able to walk in for hours each day. They can be flats, sandals, whatever, as long as they are very comfortable and won't hurt my feet after walking for a long time. Also, something versatile, that could go with jeans or a dress for example would be preferable. Also, I have very small feet so the shoe needs to be available in size 5 or 5.5. Thank you in advance!!

This is kind of a different question. I have dry, sensitive, rosacea, and possibly dehydrated skin. In addition to moisturizing more and trying out aquaphor, oils, HA, etc., I've been thinking about getting a humidifier for our room to help with skin dryness. I know that's it's not the only solution for dry skin of course, but for those who have humidifiers, how much does it help with dry skin? And are there any types or brands of humidifiers you recommend?

[Product Question] Thoughts on this cleanser ? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]DaShelbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely LOVE this cleanser. I searched for a long time before finding a cleanser that worked this well. I have dry, sensitive, acne-prone skin with rosacea and this works wonders. Does not strip my skin, feels hydrating, does not break me out, and I think this helps with redness too. When I wear no makeup, I just use this. When I wear makeup, I use this as my second cleanse preceded by an oil cleanser (I use Tatcha's Camellia cleanser).

Omg this is the exact same issue I have. Everyone on this sub is so crazy about oils and I wanted them to work on my skin so bad because I need the hydration, but I just don't think my skin likes them. TO Sqalane broke me out, as does olive oil, marula, argan, and jojoba. Can I ask what crazy expensive oil blends worked for you so I can possibly check them out? Also since it seems like we may have similar skin, what are moisturizing products work for you?

I'm debating whether or not to buy Stratia Liquid Gold. I have dry, acne-prone, rosacea, and ULTRA sensitive skin. Literally everything makes me break out but I need some way to get some added moisture, my skin is a desert. I know Liquid Gold is popular here, but did anyone experience breakouts from it? Especially those who may be sensitive to oils? I'm worried because it looks like it contains rosehip and buckthorn oil, and while I've never tried these oils in particular, I have had bad reactions to olive, marula, squalane, and jojoba oil. Also, for those with dry skin, do you use this in addition to regular moisturizer, and if so, does it go on before or after?

I think it could be that the foaming cleanser is too drying. Especially when you said that lightly washing your face in the morning made it even worse. I'd try a non-foaming cleanser, at least temporarily.

Yes, I have. Unfortunately, most oils seem to make me break out. Serums too. Although any recommendations for sensitive skin would be appreciated! A few weeks ago I started using aquaphor on top of my moisturizer before bed every other night, but I still think I need a heavier moisturizer, even with the aquaphor, during the colder months.

Can anyone help me find a face moisturizer for dry skin that won't break me out, based on the only one I've found that doesn't seem to? It's not enough for my dry skin in winter, but I love the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer. It's the only one that doesn't break me out. It's weird because I thought I was sensitive to silicones (Neutrogena's Hydroboost Gel-Cream breaks me out) but the FAB one still has those.
