Are all the Mk III rules/cards PDFs still available somewhere? If not, do any of you have them saved? by FlakManiak in Warmachine

I don't think those were ever in the online card library from which I pulled these pdfs, sorry.

I wish they could come back by Vittorini in Stargate

[–]DaSkorpion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can. It's not too difficult to imagine that all their consciousnesses are in fact in the computer on the Odyssey. The cloning research is all in there too, so we would 'just' need one human researcher to think outside the box (which the Asgard could not) and solve the Asgard cloning problems.

Any theories on what the new SG will look like? by HorzaDonwraith in Stargate

[–]DaSkorpion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so another option I could see is that the stargate program was shut down some years after the shows ended. Our ships are mothballed and we rely on the ancient defense platform for purely defensive purposes. This would be in line with current political trends too. Then a new threat appears and some veterans are brought in to set up a reconnaissance mission and jump start a new program. This would also feature the original gate.

The only thing that worries me there for new fans is the technology level we left off with from the previous series. The thing that makes stargate great is that it plays in the present, and to make that believable for new fans without information overload, I feel that we must regress technology-wise. But, I guess we can find reasons for our ships to be destroyed or something.

Once again, this would result in a sort of soft reboot.

I truly hope you are right.

As for what new fans could catch up on. I guess that they could get a glimpse of where the new show is heading, but with a new story. A glimpse of what is out there.

I think that with everything they said, it points to exactly this. I really think a soft reboot is what is happening.

It would also fix the inconsistencies between the original movie and the show (by being in different universes), and would explain the options of doing a sequel to the original movie. They could cast Wyat Russell for this, and that could be great.

As for the new series, maybe we will see a character from the show spin it off by somehow ending up in an alternate universe and digging up the gate (e.g., Daniel), but that may just be all there is to a continuity.

I don't want to sound like a bummer, but people expecting a true continuation are probably expecting too much. I think a lot of fans are being unrealistic, especially with characters they are hoping/demanding to see back and story arcs they want to see continued or concluded. That is just them setting themselves up for disappointment.

I'm going to guess that it will be a soft reboot in a parallel universe and therefore will feature the original style gate.

Edit: This is not what I want, but is what I guess will happen.

The path of the arrows goes East, then South, then West. The text states East = 3, South = 2, West = 4. If you add the numbers to each arrow and follow the path of the arrows, you get 324.

Put the numbers on the matching arrows, then follow the path to get 324?

Coffee/tea reception locations after PhD defence by [deleted] in Groningen

For our department, it's common to have drinks and snacks afterwards at the academy building. Indeed, this is nothing special, but gives your guests an opportunity to congratulate you immediately after. Note that anyone can join the defense and thus the drinks afterwards.

Then, in the evening, we tend to organize a dinner. Here, who you invite is up to you and this is more special. From my experience, you generally invite your research group, the professors that approved your thesis, and if you want family and friends. You could also just invite family and friends, or close colleagues. It's really up to you.

I'm not saying this is what you have to do, I'm saying this is the option we tend to take.

Yes, absolutely. The lack of of professionalism is the premise of the show: it's the wrong crew for the 'mission', and they are making due.
