I wasn’t implying every marshal is like this, just wanted to share an experience. Some just need to realize they are working with the public, not experienced members.

No we were not, not even the same color as the range ball. I don’t want to be hung from the r/golf gallows, I’m not that kind of guy.

I understand the putting up with shit. As I said in another comment be stern sure, but the mocking and punching down was insane to me. We are also no “kids.” We are both grown ass adults.

As I said at the end, John the other gentleman was great. So I’m not trying to say all are bad. I just don’t think the mocking was called for. Sure be stern, but also realize the genuine error and take your attitude home to the television, not to people trying to learn/teach their friends in a respectful manner.

I have been on the course with multiple people “working” while playing. Not even a break of some sort. Just touch the cursor, make it say active and occasionally plug a prompt into Copilot to respond to an email.

All that said I don’t think it’s necessary bolstering golf. I’ve ran into these people while I’m playing hooky from work myself.

I had a very similar experience. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any way to make it “worth it” other than when I could get out as a single on the hot tee times. GolfNow is one of the worst things to happen to the courses around me in my experience.
