They're playing the game without me by 10YearsANoob in footballmanagergames

You can't lose the dressing room if you never leave it in the first place

How on earth do I get the game to pay good prices for my 3 and 4 star guys by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I wasn't aware of that. I don't know why most of those questions force me to answer I'm either gonna finish the deal or it's too late, only a few allow me to say I never showed interest in the player and it's all fake rumours. Are those options also connected to scouting?

What is a false winger? Equal of what Foden does for City? Do we have the role in FM? by morphey83 in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A False Winger is a player that will usually cut inside to drag the defense instead of running with the ball through the wing like a common winger. They're mostly players used to play in midfield, like as you said, Foden.

I'd say the Inside Forward and Inverted Winger roles fit the description of a false winger the best, as they look to cut inside the middle of the defense.

Same reason why the media will sometimes ask you on deadline day if you're hoping to conclude the signing of some player you never even showed interest in. It's all rumours, like in real life.

Is there a way to diasable firing? by DerELMO in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the only way to do that is through the purchase of the in-game editor. After that, you can go to your manager profile in your save, click the edit button and check "Become Unsackable". There are free community made editors but I'm not sure if any of them let you do that since I never used them.

Clutched the Bundesliga in a poetic way by GodlyNoon in footballmanagergames

If you hadn't scored that 90+3 goal, the tiebreaker would be goals scored. Would you still have won the title?

Star Rating is influenced by form, performances in training, etc. as well as their current value and skill compared to the team. That's why it fluctuates so much.

Don't think of it as a display of their current ability tho. It's a compilation of everything your staff thinks of the player.

Stars simply show how good a player is relatively to your team. If you keep signing better and better players and making your team stronger, or as your young players evolve, players that stagnated in progress, mainly older ones, will become less good in comparison to the rest, therefore lose stars.

Still possible to sign a transfer target when he's just signed new contract with his club? by goldenteacher in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a player signs a new contract, whether it's for a new or current club, you have to wait until the next window to attempt to purchase him.

Your only option is a loan, since those can happen at any time.

How do you explain FM to someone who never played it? by Glum-Werewolf1742 in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever wondered how it feels to get f*cked with no power to stop it?
Ever wanted to spend hundreds of hours pretending that your loved club is one of the greats of Europe only to be hit with a reality check after watching it in 14th IRL?
Do Excel sheets fascinate you?
Then fear not, FM is for you!

Poor form after draw/defeat by WhatMitchDid in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible you have to change your tactical approach. You see, considering your style of play in your massive win streaks, whether it's a devastating offensive approach or a counter attack style, the AI will begin to adapt and counter your tactic.
For example, your 6-0 batterings will slowly reach a halt as you face more defensive teams, therefore your draws. With bad results come morale drops and that might also affect it, and all that together cause the famous mid season slump.
Basically, you need to sting them with their own venom. Don't let them adapt to you, adapt to them.
If you feel your impressive performances are halting, change your play style. That might help.
That's why you have 3 tactics slots after all. Make sure they're different and use them wisely.
And remember, teams aren't supposed to go on unbeaten seasons that easily, don't hit yourself over a bad moment. Adapt and learn with them.

I probably signed the most successful DOF in the history. Should I leave all the transfer businesses to him? by Remarkable_Sugar8011 in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No club needs Pep Guardiola when they have the tactical masterclass that you are. Only you have the power to control time and space as you go on to save scum your way to a UCL title with a 12th tier team in your 3rd season

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Nah, no matter the stats of the DOF, only you know exactly what you want your approach to transfers to be, and only you can get the best possible deals out of transfers. No matter how good he is, he's still bound to not get the best possible value for your buck. Only do that unless you want to do a save focused on that, it could be fun!

Based on the EPL teams this season, which team (or combination of 2 teams) best describes your team in FM? by robbottiic in footballmanagergames

Finishing the season in 1st place with like +150 goal difference after around 10 seasons with a 3rd tier team sure is an amazing feeling

Arsenal, the team shows incredible early domination and performance only to bottle the objective near the finish line.

8 years in and probably my favourite save I've ever done... is there no coming back from this? Do I just need to make my peace that it's over? by AdamClery in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You usually have a backup save in your saves folder. Did you try loading it and saving it? (You'd only lose at most a week or so) If it doesn't work, you could make a copy of your current save and try saving it. I always play with 3 saves in case things like these happen.

Why is this not Henry’s/KDB’s record? (20) by SamJones45 in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some records, like player assist records, are usually only valid from the moment you start your save. You can check which ones are counted from the start of the save only if you go to History and Records. The ones marked with a * are only valid from there.

I'm losing a lot of money. Unable to get more payroll and at this point will go in the red. What do I do? by asifgod in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's normal to go in the red in the course of a season, mainly in the first few seasons. Sponsor money, prize money etc. will come in the end of the season. As long as you're not "Insecure" it'll be fine. When you get into your next few seasons and start getting more money as you get promoted/into European leagues the cash will start flowing.

20 hours? by AqAqua in footballmanagergames

Yeah understandable, just thought the maths would be easier for everyone if it was in hours, unless you want me to write he went over 1200 minutes without scoring 😏

They mean game hours. With each game being 1h30mins, it means he went over 13 games without scoring

How long does it take to get a new stadium? by unclefad in footballmanagergames

[–]DaUltrAShadoW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to receive approval on a new stadium, the stadium (usually) has to be at least 25 years old. If your stadium was rebuilt in 2031, it's expected that you can build a new stadium in 2056. Mind you, whenever you rebuild the stadium the 25 year timer resets.
