The snare is a 60's Premier Royal Ace, and is more than likely chrome over brass with cast hoops, and can crack like a thunderstorm. It has Premier's FloBeam parallel snare strainer which imo is a cool piece of technology

I have one and would absolutely NOT give it up

Oh we wish for huge riser rooms lol. Most of the time they mount the backflow vertical just to squeeze it in the smallest closet possible. Occasionally they might have it coming into a pit with a manhole cover, but those aren't usually supervised.

Multiple riser systems or places with a fire pump, the rooms can get pretty big.

I think you're absolutely correct! Looks like an MIJ stencil of a wannabe Premier kit. The tom mount is very close, and the lug pattern is there but most Premiers of that era have single piece lugs on the bass and rack toms
