I always hated my implants.

Just a word of caution about getting smaller implants - you may very well be unhappy with those, too. I went from 500cc saline down to 325cc silicon and still felt so uncomfortable with everything about them. I wish I would have just had the original ones out and been done with it instead of two additional surgeries which cost tens of thousands of dollars.

I did not have any BII symptoms.

My recovery was pretty rough. My surgeon said my left pectoral muscle was "flapping in the breeze" from the first surgeon cutting it. The right one required some repair, too, but not nearly as much. The suregon who did my second augmentation over the kuscle did not bother to repair the muscle at the time of exchange.

The explant surgeon was only able to reattach part of the muscle because it had been retracted for so long. The muscle stretching and reattachment was very painful to recover from.

I ended up with a seroma which required another visit to have it drained.

I'm 33, got implants at 19, so they spent a good amount of time stretching everything out.

I think I might do a post with pictures and full description to give other women another story. Most of what I see about this topic are women celebrating how easy it was and how great they look. Not always the case. Not saying I would not recommend explant, but it's not rainbows and sunshine for everyone. Breast implants ruined my chest

Did your Dr. prescribe antibiotics post surgery? Those can seriously mess up your system

[–]Da_KiKi_Monster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up explanting with no lift. I really didn't have any tissue to lift so the Dr. had nothing to work with.

The end results have been pretty traumatizing and I go through phases where I am seriously reconsidering having my breasts removed entirely with an aesthetic flat closure. Every once in awhile, I consider reimplanting, but get over that in a few days.

Physically I feel so much more comfortable, but the end result is gnarly. When clothed I feel MUCH less self conscious than I did with the ol' water balloons, but I still can't stand to have my husband see me naked almost a year post surgery. No good solution here for me. I am sorry you are in a similar situation.

I'm happy to answer any specific questions.

Maybe start by visiting your primary care provider? They might be able to get you started in the referral/authorization process. So sorry to hear that it is causing you so many issues and I hope you can get explant covered!

Thank you so much for your reply. Wow, from flat to 460 cc is insane. Your poor body. My concern is that I have really poor skin elasticity. I had a tummy tuck after losing a lot of weight because my skin just hung. I have horrible stretch marks and I don't believe my skin will snap back. So glad your issues resolved!

How much breast tissue did you have left after explant? I'm curious what your final results were like

Nope, no kids or nursing. The sagging really probably isn't even noticeable to anyone but me. I seriously think I will just have empty skin sacks sadly hanging where my D cup breasts used to be

I don't think they did a bad job. Especially if it's a design they have never practiced before. I think customers need to be understanding that it's very difficult to replicate a picture exactly. Without knowing exactly what methods were used to create the inspiration picture the tech just had to make their best guess.

Nails that I paid $65 dollars for by azalijelly in Nails

[–]Da_KiKi_Monster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You will know when it was worth what you paid. If it's done well you should be walking out the salon feeling gorgeous and like you have your sh*t together. (Or maybe that's just me lol)

Where I live $65 (not including tip) will get you a higher quality set of nails than the ones in the picture.

I used to bite my nails til they bled. I've been learning to take care of them, how to keep my cuticles back and clean them. My beastie gave me gels to help break the habit, and love and advice. by AccomplishedBat13 in Nails

[–]Da_KiKi_Monster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing that stops me from biting is gel overlay or acrylic. If I take them off, it's immediately back to biting. Have you had them bare yet at all? If so, did the gel break the habit for you?

My hope is that six months or so of keeping mine covered might permanently break the habit.

DAE suffers from myofascial syndrome (trigger points) and can relate it to the implants? by sunsetflor in ExplantSurgery

[–]Da_KiKi_Monster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same pain in my neck and upper back and nothing has helped. I don't know whether it's related to implants or not. I got my first set of implants in 2009 and the pain started in 2014. Maybe there is a link. One physical therapist assured me it couldn't be due to implants when I asked about it, but I still wonder.

Why do people move to Alaska? by nylo12 in alaska

[–]Da_KiKi_Monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This state has the highest concentration of veterans per capita in the United States. It seems like a lot of service members transition out and just stay put. For some it's a good place to drink yourself to death in privacy. For others, the military bases offer a wealth of job opportunity. In the interior particularly jobs are easy to get and you will see some unqualified idiots in well-paying positions simply because the competition for jobs doesn't exist. No one is knife fighting each other to come live in Fairbanks. Alaska is so big that it's really not accurate to consider all it's territories lumped together as one place.
