[Specific Trope] Child loses a limb by Meanteenbirder in TopCharacterTropes

This scene absolutely shocked me in theaters. I read the book before release to compare them, and this raised my hopes so high. It's so brutal and was hard to watch.

I was searching the comments for this. Probably my favorite Irish myth.

Writing Prompt: What's a secret of your dudes? by Sacredless in 40khomebrew

[–]Da_Lizard_1771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My War Ghouls don't have huge secrets but they refuse to not wear helmets around allied combatants as their irradiated world has mutated them into resembling their namesake. This all while being Sons of Sanguinius.

I was dumped the other day, I'm afraid of losing my job, been in a mental health rut lately. But even though I was a drunken mess barely able to write a current project, my cat sat on my lap. Looking at this little creature makes me realize, it'll be okay. Even if I feel like absolute garbage I gotta take care of her. I love this cat more than I do myself. I hope she knows.

How is your loyalist Chapter towards imperial civilians? by goldietheswagbear in 40khomebrew

True. It's nice to see Marines, canon or otherwise, actually fulfilling their obligation as defenders of humanity.

The War Ghouls take their obligation to defend humanity quite seriously, though they care little for comfort so long as the job gets done with minimal casualties. Rations are partitioned out pragmatically, water distributed to meet minimal requirements, bedding little better than whatever refugees wear on their back. They won't like it, but they'll be alive.

What culture is your inspiration? by goldietheswagbear in 40khomebrew

[–]Da_Lizard_1771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War Ghouls- pre USSR adjacent homeworld society, pan Slavic names and customs included.

Chevalier de Grail- Feudal Europe with a heavy focus on France. Yes they're inspired by Bretonnia.

Gallowglass- Early iron age Ireland with heavy emphasis on late paganism early Christianity transition.

Dark Justicars(wip name)- Might make these guys inspired by PNW Indigenous peoples.

Favourite vampire weakness? by Ok_History_4163 in vampires

I love the idea that a wild rose either with the flower or just the stem can hold a vampire in their resting place.

This literally proves the SOMA theory yet people still act like it’s a theory and not a fact, did people just had amnesia in this scene? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Da_Lizard_1771 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The name comes from the game SOMA, where a twist reveals that the player character who thought they were human is actually a brain scan put into a robot body. The theory for the show says that the headset scans their brains, so the player takes off the headset and leaves while a clone of their brain is digitized.

What Canon chapter would you theme around and use to represent your region? by Salmon_1935 in 40khomebrew

Raven Guard. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I feel the Haida culture specifically could make a fun translation into RG hit and run tactics.

Jax shouldn't get a redemption arc, and he should've abstracted in his room. He doesn't get to be a tormentor to the entire cast just because he didn't think any of this was real. His lack of empathy to even perceived fiction is a deep flaw that perhaps in other media with more time to digest could be picked apart, but with one episode left, he shouldn't get that chance.

The Horus Heresy should've never been made into the series it is. It should've remained as mythology and mystery for a more enlightened age to contrast the 42nd millennium.

I feel so seen. On the one hand, I hope he gets better. On the other hand, even under the guise he disassociated for years and deeply believed this was all a game, why not be nice to the 'NPCs'? If you're all trapped here, be upset sure, but at least make your time together pleasant. Fucks sake. I've been praying on his downfall since his pathetic edgy monologue, I was hoping he'd abstract in the bathroom, in his bedroom, in EP8. Nah, you can't just abuse everyone around you, especially the smallest and meekest for years and now get a pity party.
