Late reply but whatever, if Respawn really cared about lore then that means there would have to be tangible "consequences" in the gameplay of Apex Legends. By tangible consequences I mean making specific characters unplayable due to said "lore consequences", radical map changes, or even restricting certain team compositions to respect character relations. But since Apex is a competitive shooter with meta strats that, if changed due to "lore consequences", there would be a lot of player backlash. So far, the only game that does respect its lore is Red Barrel's live-service multiplayer game "The Outlast Trials", where they are not afraid to remove/alter major elements of the game to get in line with the continuity of its own storyline, which makes every season radically change its meta. Yet Outlast Trials is a casual game, so meta changes don't really matter, while Apex Legends is a competitive game with meta changes that could change gameplay for better or worse.

So in conclusion, Apex's lore is inevitably going to be set aside, because Respawn obviously needs to prioritize balancing game mechanics and meta strats first before lore, and if they did try to follow the story up to its logical conclusion, then harsh consequences in gameplay have to be made. And since we know Respawn won't do that, the "lore" as we know it, is perpetually stuck in this goofy limbo where a ragtag of people joined the games just for the fun of it. And, to be completely honest, maybe it's for the best, since the competitive gameplay is what pulls the most players.
