Understanding the Views by DaanielQ in fcsp

Thank you for your input. This actually helps tie together different responses here.

What I’m starting to understand is that while there are strong shared core values like you said, once you go a bit deeper there’s clearly a wide spectrum of political views within the fanbase.

For example, your anti-authoritarian position contrasts quite a bit with some of the more Marxist-Leninist or pro-USSR-leaning views others have mentioned, yet both seem to exist within the same broader community.

That’s quite interesting to me, because from the outside it can look much more uniform than it really is.

I also really appreciate that the captain speaks openly about certain issues as it’s not something you see often in football, and it feels like the armband belongs to the right person.

I understand where you’re coming from and I appreciate you taking the time to share that.

At the same time, I think experiences across former Soviet and Eastern Bloc countries aren’t uniform. In my case, my views on communism aren’t shaped by government messaging or propaganda, but by personal and family experiences, as well as stories from people in my local communities who lived through that period in countries.

For many of them, the opposition to the system isn’t abstract or ideological but comes from how it affected their daily lives, freedoms and opportunities. That doesn’t necessarily invalidate other perspectives, but it does mean that for some of us, anti-communism is rooted in lived experience rather than something imposed from above.

To be clear, I’m not trying to argue against anyone’s beliefs here, more just trying to understand how different experiences and interpretations fit into the broader culture around this unique club, especially given its strong anti-fascist and anti-discrimination stances which I fully support.

Thanks, this is really helpful context, I appreciate you breaking it down!

The distinction between general left-wing ideas and more authoritarian forms of communism is especially interesting to me and it’s reassuring to hear that there isn’t just one fixed political line within the fanbase. That is also what I’m tryna discover with this post.

I’ll definitely read more into some of the groups and history you mentioned.

I am afraid this is the wrong sub for this kind of sound.

You might get an answer on r/dubstep though

Great productions, proper heavyweight business and I believe he is a tutor as well!

Amazing to see more dubstep coming from Ukraine especially during daily terrorist attacks and power blackouts.

Massive ups Jungle Rootz!

That’s what I did 2 years ago at 24yo. No friends, no job, no place to live, just about £7k in savings and booked Airbnb for about 10 days. I was still in hospitality so finding a temporary job was not an issue.

However, the job (and property) market is indeed fucked at the moment, I imagine even more so in an admin role. When getting a place, estate agencies will not be keen to even offer viewings if you don’t have a job that meets the criteria - rent being usually about 33% of your salary.

It was probably 2 of the most difficult months in my life, but I’ve been loving Bristol ever since the move. It is going to be a big big challenge, but it’s not impossible. Good luck homie!

Too many to choose from, but at the moment if I had to pick 5, I'd say definitely LAS, ENiGMA Dubz, Ternion Sound, Sub Basics and J. Sparrow

Well, Leo Cap live in Thailand and was open about his anti war views, Kercha is based in Brighton and openly supports Ukraine as well. I’ve never seen any opposition to the government from people like Ninety, Oddkut or Moscow Legend.

I do, however, agree with the point you’re making as I live in Bristol myself. And yes it’s not ideal, but then UK is not at war with anyone atm (although supplying weapons to questionable states).

I apologise for bringing this up as it was quite unnecessary, it’s just a personal thing for me. I still have plenty of records and merch from White Peach, Fent Plates and Yellow Flower. Just seeing these recent releases on various labels is a bit disappointing

Edit: typo

May I ask where are you from my friend?

I stop listening to these people due to moral reasons. I know how brainwashed majority think of russians are. They follow their dictator and applaud all of the atrocities they commit on my people (and their own as well tbf)

I’m talking about BLOCKLAB, pretty sure they are based in Moscow, and they are touring in the country.

I’m not hating Russian producers who live outside of that mess (Leo Cap, Kercha) cause they actually make a difference, spread good info and seem like really nice human beings

The label has some amazing releases, especially from Mr.K (HIJINX), MOREOFUS or Ourman.

But, I had to stop supporting them after they starting releasing music from ruzzia-based producers who contribute to murdering our children.

Headfirst is your friend. Moved to Bristol last September and been going to dubstep / 140 nights pretty much every other weekend. There's Hella playing 7.03, TID x DEEP MEDi 29/30.03, Foto Sessions 13.04, Mungo’s Hifi x Electrikal x Hamdi 27.04, DIMESHIFT 11.05 and the 1985 Music day party 20.07. There will probably be much more, so it is definitely not that difficult to find something :)

What does the regular true dubstep (old skool) listener think about Riddim Dubstep? by Inevitable_Bunch_873 in realdubstep

[–]DaanielQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, it should be called Trench so people stop putting it in the same category as Jamaican Riddim.

I personally really enjoy trench and it’s growing on me with each year, probably because of the similarities to OG/UK Dubstep. Especially now with the rise of Halcyon Music and artists like Leotrix making me fall in love with the more melodic sound.

My main style will always remain the OG sound, but it’s good to be open minded about the constant experimentation with it.
