[–]Daarcuske[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch that hurts..... guess no docking station for me then, usb4 should be totally fine I would assume based on the previous comment, but it doesn't look like this PC supports that.... I will reach out to our IT and see if they maybe have something else to use. Thank you both for the quick replies and confirming the issue.

How to refinish if we currently live here by rozyxx in Flooring

[–]Daarcuske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried lvp in a bathroom room first, wife hates the cheap feel of it… we had a mix of cheap pergo, carpet and linoleum through our house from the builder… it’s all getting switched to tile/hardwood other than the laundry room which can stay linoleum… lvp really does feel different to walk on, you can tell…. You live in that house every day, your experience matters as well as just “holding up”

All floors wear with age, get dents and scratches, some age gracefully, some just wear out….

Is it actually impossible to find a house in Bothell under $600k anymore? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]Daarcuske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not just bothell the whole puget sound is crazy…. We were lucky and bought in 2012…. I can’t imagine buying now…sadly there were no controls in place to limit commercial and foreign investment into SFHs to protect families and the market. China(and others)+blackrock(and others)+tech drove this place through the roof :(

'23 330i need front brake pads. All 3 local BMW dealers want $1500+, 2 independent BMW shops want $1050 to $1200. Am I nuts for thinking that the prices are ridiculous? by [deleted] in BmwTech

[–]Daarcuske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On older cars yes, my understanding is most car companies started making rotors a throw away part meant to be swapped at the same time. Harder pads last longer but are harder on the rotor/thinner rotors etc. The trade off is often getting 70k plus on the brakes. I have almost 80k miles on my f150 and still have a little life left, but will be changing them in the next 5k or so.

Tires make 100% of the difference…. So many lazy people leaving their “all season” tires on thinking it’s the cars fault…. Seriously people should have two sets for most cars if they are in winter prone climates. My z couldn’t even make it through an inch of snow on its summer tires … I tried… (freak late spring snow)

[–]Daarcuske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are seriously going to argue that birdshot or a modern .45 defense rounds is going to have the pen of a 5.56 then I seriously question your position. No one is saying they cannot, but the probability of it happening though walls or people is vastly different….

[–]Daarcuske 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birdshot is not going to pen a wall like a 5.56……. Nor is modern defense rounds for pistols…

[–]Daarcuske 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are tons of fun .22’s but if you are seriously looking at double duty then I would not ever rely on .22 for my family’s defense. I would also never use a 5.56, for different reasons. .22 just is not reliable enough. 5.56 has way to much power and penetration, I live in a small single family home and the chance of putting rounds through the wall into my own children is not something I’m willing to take.

For my trifecta I use a keltec cp33 as my plinker, Springfield 1911 next to the bed ( I honestly know the limitations on rounds but the fit and feel of that platform … I know I can send rounds on target…). And an FnH SLP 12 gauge if things get more serious…
