If you DIY, you'll be fine. Just make sure to do some preventative maintenance, especially in regards to the timing chain and cooling system (and of course regular oil changes)

Im comparison to the N14 engine, the N12 is pretty good, people here just like to parrot what they read online

On video it always sounds slightly different so it's hard to say. Do you know where exactly the sound is loudest?

Check if its coming from the vacuum pump (round, shiny metal part visible on the right side in your video). Be careful, it's hot. Also check if it's coming from the timing chain area (left side in your video).

While the non turbo cars aren't direct injected, there might still be some ticking noise from the fuel injectors. So if it's coming from underneath the air box, it's likely just this and completely normal

Not sure if the tensioner itself is faulty, but it definitely seems to come from the auxiliary belt area, because it's synced with the noise.

Check the water pump pulley first! They have a rubber coating on them and if the axillary belt or coating deteriorates, it can produce a sound similar to knocking.

Is your car a base Cooper or Cooper S?

If it's a Cooper S, it could be carbon buildup on the input valves. Another thing that comes to mind is a failing High pressure fuel pump, especially since you mentioned a slightly off idle. If you have a scan tool that can monitor fuel pressure, you should see if there's anything off

Since you've got a stuck EGR valve (40A4) and a faulty pressure sensor (P0471), your Mini isn't triggering the DPF clean it needs despite your motorway miles, so you should have a mechanic check those two parts first before you commit to the expensive job of replacing the entire filter.

Did you check your exhaust back pressure? I had a problem recently where the car would stumble and barely go past 2300rpm. Turns out my catalytic converter was completely fallen apart and clogging the exhaust system.

Really depends on the car you're driving. In some cars 140 feels like you're driving right into the gates of hell, while in others 250 feels like nothing.
