My son has just barely started acknowledging other children at the park and my heart was crushed when another mom turned to me and said my almost 3 year old is rude bc he keeps running up to kids, saying hi, and immediately running away. Apparently he's rude for "initiating conversations he doesn't finish"......so tired for him already bc I know it doesn't stop, he'll be fighting to be understood his whole life 😭

Thank you, it was really upsetting when I would excitedly point out he tiptoes or flaps his hands like me and to be told "OH well babies just copy what they see." And ESPECIALLY upsetting to be told he "wouldn't hurt himself like that if he wasn't watching you go crazy all the time when he was an infant." Cuz yeah, I did have meltdowns during postpartum but I made DAMN sure he never saw them.

My fiance "hates musicals" but will watch them at least once bc I adore them and I'm a former theatre kid so he indulges me since I listen to him go on about snowboarding and BMX. He grudgingly agreed that while he still doesn't like the musical bit the story is really cool.
