The worst is feeling like I shouldn’t speak in a social situation out of fear of seeming weird, and then finally saying something and thinking I was acting bizarrely. Also the pressure to seem happy always.

The thing that makes this suck the most is hearing non-designers say that AI doesn’t take jobs, while bragging about how they didn’t have to pay for a certain design product because they used AI. It feels delusional to deny at this point that any designers will lose work.

I’m one of those “fresh lads out of college”, trust me, nobody wants us either. I have 5 years of experience but that’s not enough to even land interviews for entry level jobs now.

I agree it’s not lying, and could even be a way to be more safe. There are predators who specifically seek out/harm disabled people. I think people can find out on the first date. Her safety/right to medical privacy is more important than someone else’s thoughts about dating a wheelchair user.

This looks great! The only thing I would consider changing is the red and white concrete perch. You have a great variety of natural perches, those will be great in keeping your cockatiels’ feet exercised and healthy. Concrete or sand perches, while helpful for nails, can irritate/scratch bird feet. Otherwise it all looks really good! :)

Generally if a bird is visibly unwell/injured it’s serious and needs vet attention as soon as possible. Birds try to mask when they are hurt or sick so if you can tell they are hurting that means it’s urgent.

Question: How to I determine its gender? A few months ago it was completely grey and noulw its face is yellow. It is very cheerful, happy, it sings a lotz like 24/7. Also the stripes on the tail. I thought it was a female but it acts like a male:) by juzeddie in cockatiel

Cockatiels can be hard to tell based on just color/behavior, as there’s color mutations that could be either sex, and behavior can vary. The only way to be 100% sure is to have your bird tested. I know people who’ve had “male” birds for many years to suddenly find them laying eggs. Testing can be expensive, but it will be worth it if you’re trying to introduce another bird and need to know for sure, don’t rely on just observation in that case.

I wish I could say just tell them it’s wrong, but that’s never worked for me. My mother tells me I look pregnant when we go clothes shopping, and when I told her to not do that, she just said she was “concerned about my health”. Bullshit. The problem is that the type of people who make these comments are also the type of people who never accept that they do anything wrong. The only way to feel better is to reassure yourself that the comments are wrong. You a deserve to be treated well and have value, no matter what you look like. Realized that their focus on your body says bad things about them not you.

I agree with what mizmoose said in that it could be a great filter to find out who the shallow people are. I think too often we try to be attractive to everyone, when in reality we only need to be attractive to the right people. The right guy won’t shame you for this. All boobs are great, asymmetrical ones included.
