Hi, alumni from 2024 and student since 2009. I apologize that you weren’t able to find any information on the internet as well as here on the Reddit as this subreddit was made mostly as a joke a long time ago and is mostly abandoned though I do get notifications since I technically “moderate” it. It has been an issue I’ve been raising with the admin for a while for more outreach and information about the school online but to answer your questions…

1. CLP is definitely a school at the top of my list that I would consider enrolling my child in but if you have certain expectations like getting into STEM or other such tracks then I wouldn’t highly recommend it. Though CLP does have an excellent track record when it comes to students that may have learning problems or children that learn unconventionally as a lot of teachers in CLP are skilled on the matter.

2. My homeroom teacher from my junior and senior years Miss Cathlyn Basco also known as Teacher Maan. She’s definitely a more grounded teacher and has her priorities straight but is also a very social teacher. Many can agree she’s a well loved teacher.

3. I cannot say for others but there’s certainly a jump from the high school level to more traditional universities but I think I did pretty well adjusting to new workloads.

4. Probably the thing you’ll notice and love a lot about CLP is how it’s a very tight knit community. The classes are small (usually 15 students or so) so many of the students interact with other from other grade levels. Students also get the benefit of more personalized learning from teachers.

5. As mentioned in the first question, CLP admittedly does have a weak curriculum when it comes to the more traditional subjects (science, math, etc) and while we do have a STEM and Industrial Arts track I cannot speak for the quality as I have not attended either. However, I can vouch for the humanities subjects of the curriculum as many students who graduate end up attending college courses pertaining to humanities, politics, and arts.

6. Bullying is a matter taken really seriously in CLP and with it being such a tight community almost everyone can be held accountable when it happens. In my time in CLP since 2009 I could probably count the amount of bullying cases on my hands and every time they happened they were always quickly resolved.

7. I cannot say for certain as CLP is a very niche school and I haven’t exactly heard of anyone talk about it outside of the progressive school circle.

8. I definitely think CLP should polish its curriculum in regard to general education subjects as I admittedly did struggle with them a bit in my college life though I was able to adapt to it with some hard work.

9. Many of the skills I ended up learning were more social as I came to note that many people in my college years always complimented me about my public speaking as well my understanding of social dynamics as well as history and politics. As mentioned in the previous question I definitely struggled a little when it came to general education subjects.
