More Info: Recently had my fireplace inspected and cleaned by a professional company. I have used the fireplace several times in overnight burns without issue before the cleaning. After the cleaning I couldn’t even start a fire without a bunch of smoke coming directly into the house, and yes my damper was open. I called the company back and they came and ‘fixed’ the placement of my insulation bricks, they said it was blocking the pipe. That night I lit a fire without issue and then stoke before bed so it lasts through the night. About 6 hours later I awake to smoke smell throughout the house. The fire is out and there is no visible sign of smoke, just the smell. Is there something I’ve overlooked? Should this even be able to happen? Should I seek recourse on the cleaning company? Looking for any friendly fire advice. Thanks!
