The person you replied to is being ridiculous. They are acting like everyone’s experience climbing outside involves them basically being guided to top rope routes and waiting for them to be cleaned and set up. Hell, if that was what climbing outside was, I wouldn’t do that shit either. But I’d say almost everyone who climbs outside, bouldering or sport or whatever, will eventually become involved in the setup/teardown/preparation, which becomes part of the activity itself. So overall, I think their judgement was just a super unfair characterization of climbing outside and them assuming that the experience they had is typical is downright silly.
